POLSON — Polson’s Fourth of July Parade will begin at noon on Friday, July 4. This year’s parade theme is “The Parade of Stars.” The parade has been organized by the Youth Committee of Envision Polson and brought to you in large part by the Polson Kiwanis Club. It will begin at Cherry Valley Elementary School on the corner of Main Street and Eighth Ave. The route goes north on Main Street, turning right on Third Ave. W, in front of Polson Hallmark. Parade participants will continue to the parking lot at Linderman School for disassembly of the floats.

Entry forms are required to participate. They can be picked up at Polson Chamber of Commerce and must be completed and returned to the Chamber Office at 418 Main Street by July 3. Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place winning entries. Please have a simple sign on both sides of your float stating your business or family name.

Join the fun on Friday, July 4, for the sixth annual 1776 Firecracker Run, which is a 1-km. family fun run down Main Street before the parade. Race registration and the starting line will be at St Joseph Medical Center. The cost is a non-perishable food donation for the Polson Food Pantry. Registration opens at 11:15 a.m. and the race starts at 11:45 a.m. Come dressed in red, white and blue. Finish line is at Third and Main.

Fireworks will begin over the river at dusk.
