Poets come together in Arlee
ARLEE — Montana Poet Laureate Sheryl Noethe will lead an evening of community-school poetry on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6-8 p.m. The event will feature Missoula Writing Collaborative Poets in the Schools, community poets and youth poets from the Arlee School District.

Hangin' Art celebration begins early, ends late
ARLEE — Hangin' Art Gallery’s 10th anniversary celebration continues on Friday, Oct. 25. Join Bonnie Tarses and learn how to weave from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. From 12:30–3 p.m. Mission Valley reACT invites Arlee teens to create beaded earrings for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and from 6-8:30 p.m. there will be performances by Paul Mollica, Rennie Frank and Andre Floyd. At 8:30 p.m. until midnight there will be an open mic for singers, flute players, hand drum and stand up comedians.

Costume fundraiser to award prizes
ARLEE — A fundraiser costume party for the Arlee brown building will take place on Oct. 26 beginning at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for best child and adult costumes. Sloppy Joes, salad, dessert, and drinks will be sold for $5 a plate. Live music will begin at 7 p.m. A cake auction will continue throughout the evening. Come and join us for an evening of frolic and fun as we raise money for maintenance of our community brown building.
Hangin' Art celebrates native writers
ARLEE — Celebrate Hangin' Art’s anniversary beginning at 10 a.m.– and create mosaic tiles for community beautification until 4 p.m. with Kathryn Yelsa or weave with Bonnie Tarses from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
A celebration of native writers, including Salish elder Victor A. Charlo, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. A buffet dinner catered by Marianne Forrest will be held prior to the performance. Tickets for the dinner and performance, purchased in advance, are $30 per person. Please call (406) 726-5005 to make reservations. Doors open for the performance only at 6:30 p.m. (free will offering).

Musicians finish up Hangin' Art anniversary celebration
ARLEE — Hangin' Art will have performances from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. Performing musicians include: cellist Lee Zimmerman, Andre Floyd, Teri Llovet, Dan Dubuque, Larry Hirshberg and more.

Harvest party promises many activities
ARLEE — The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church will hold a harvest party on Friday, Nov. 1, from 5-10 p.m. There will be a hayride, bonfire, costume contest, concert and food. All are invited. The church is located at 72515 McMurtrie, behind Hangin’ Art Gallery.
