Arlee plans kindergarten roundup
ARLEE — A kindergarten roundup will be held at the Arlee Elementary k-2 building from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19. Call 406-726-3216 ext. 2200 for an appointment. Your child must be 5 years old by Sept. 10, 2016, to register for the 2016-17 school year. Bring your child’s immunization records and birth certificate.

Hear about food sovereignty project
ARLEE — “Healing the Jocko Valley” food sovereignty project: “Food is Sacred, Food is Medicine,” will take place on April 20 at 6 p.m. at the Arlee Community Center on Powwow Road. Come and hear about: healthy cooking, nutrition information, health education (BMI, blood sugar, blood pressure checks), gardening-101 (sign up for help with getting your garden started).

Earth Day celebrated in Arlee
ARLEE — On Friday, April 22, an Arlee Earth Day Celebration will take place at the Hangin’ Art Gallery on Highway 93 in downtown Arlee. Activities and demonstrations for children and adults will take place from noon–5 p.m. “The Story of Honey,” a play by the Arlee Youth Leadership Council, begins at 5:30 p.m. and a pass-the-hat concert by Andre Floyd will take place from 6:30–8:30 p.m. Join us for an exciting day and evening. Pre-registration held for Women-4-Wellness
ARLEE — Women-4-Wellness pre-registration is available as a means to get into the health fair in a timely manner, to complete the health survey, and receive announcements. The Arlee Fitness Center will hold pre-registration on Thursday, April 28, from 1-3 p.m. Dates and times coming to Charlo, Dixon and Elmo locations the last week in April.

Poetry, short stories read
ARLEE — On Saturday, April 30, from 1–3 p.m., JoAnne Troxel will read from her book of poetry “Mean Dog Blues” and Jerry McGahan, a Killdeer artist, will read from his newly-published book of short stories, “The Deer Walking Upside Down.” Join us for an afternoon of readings that celebrate the sense of place that is the Jocko Valley and the Flathead Indian Reservation. Say ‘G’day’ in Arlee
ARLEE — On Saturday, April 30, at the G’day Montana Shoppe, (corner of Highway 93 and Pow Wow Road) demonstration painting by Montana watercolor/acrylic artist Loren Kovich will take place starting at 11 a.m. and then throughout the day. Playing old time fiddle music, the Smiln’ Possum String Band, will entertain from 1-3 p.m. There will be free samples and door prizes.
