Dry meat at People’s Center social
PABLO — The People’s Center’s annual Dry Meat Social will be on Monday, Oct. 13 from 7 a.m.– 4 p.m. Hunters are invited to bring their game to slice and then dry the meat on the outside rack here. The public is invited to participate, learn and share. Lunch will be available for participants. For more information, call Marie at (406) 675-0160.

PABLO — A blood drive will be held on Oct. 15, from 10:15 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. in The Late Louie Caye Sr. Memorial Building at the Salish Kootenai College.

Archery practiced at Pablo Church
PABLO — Come and hone your archery skills in the gym at Pablo Christian Church. The Christian Archery Fellowship meets every Sunday from 6-8 p.m. for archery practice during October and possibly November also. All ages are welcome. Safety is monitored, there is some instruction and events are family oriented and free. If you have questions, call (406) 675-3252, (406) 531-5113.
Free admission offered to Lady Bison basketball game
PABLO – Salish Kootenai College Lady Bison will open the basketball season Oct. 19 with a home game at noon at the Joe McDonald gym. The SKC Lady Bison will be hosting Northwest Indian College (NWIC) from Bellingham, Washington.
These two teams faced off last year in the AIHEC Tribal College championship game with the Lady Bison coming out on top capturing their 4th title out of the last 8 seasons. NWIC would like to avenge the loss as both teams prepare to meet up in Crow, Montana at the end of the season for a chance to claim the title of National Tribal College Basketball Champions.
The SKC Lady Bison would like to fill the gym, so free admission is being offered for this game.

Learn mental health action plan
PABLO — An 8-hour Mental Health First Aid course is being offered on Oct. 24 beginning at 9 p.m. at SKC’s Johnny Arlee/Victor Charlo Theater. The course teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs or symptoms of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self help care. Sometimes, the best first aid is you. Take the course, save a life, strengthen your community. Call (406) 883-1092, to register.
