Tribes present chokecherry information
PABLO — The Sunday History Series at the People’s Center will celebrate “Chokecherry month” for Salish/Pend d’Oreille and Kootenai on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 1- 4 p.m. with a presentation on chokecherries, pounding and storing berries. Crafts will be done afterwards.

Learn tribal traditions, culture, history
PABLO — Native American Awareness Week activities take place Tuesday, Sept. 15-Friday, Sept.18, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at the People’s Center on Highway 93 in Pablo. This event is geared towards educating school children about Salish, Pend d’Oreille and Kootenai history, culture and traditions. The week’s activities and events are free and open to the community to participate in. See demonstrations of slicing and drying wild game, fry bread making, hide tanning, drumming and singing, and native dancing. There will be crafts for kids, native games, and tribal language demonstrations.

Baptist Church kicks off kids’ program
PABLO — Pablo Baptist Church announces the kick-off event for their Wednesday night kids’ program is on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 6-7:30 p.m. Kids fifth grade and younger will enjoy dinner, music, stories, crafts, and games. PABLO — In Pablo on Sept. 16, 2015, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Pablo SKC Theater, a free training entitled “Drug Endangered Children Awareness Training” will be held. Lunch will be provided.

Peoples Center Social Pow-wow rescheduled
PABLO — The People’s Center has rescheduled the Social Pow-wow Celebration to Friday, Sept. 18, from 4-8 p.m. The Pow-wow/Celebration will help us end the weeklong activities at The People’s Center on Highway 93 in Pablo. Warm clothing given away
PABLO — Pablo Baptist Church will have their third annual warm clothing giveaway this Saturday, Sept. 19, from 1-6 p.m. Anyone with limited resources and in need of warm clothing, shoes, or jackets, are welcome and should plan to come. Call Kelly with any questions at 406-675-3787.
