Kiwanis host ‘Pints for a Purpose’
POLSON — On Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 4:30-8 p.m. at Glacier Brewery, 6 Tenth Ave. E, the Kiwanis Club will host “Pints for a Purpose,” a family-friendly fundraiser to support Special Olympics. Hot dogs, chili, beer and non-alcoholic options will be available. Donations to Special Olympics are appreciated.

New time for Classic Country Jammin’
POLSON — Classic Country Jammin’ will be held on Feb. 2 in the Elks ballroom from 1-4 p.m. (The time change is to allow for winter conditions and early sunset.) This event will continue on the first Sunday of every month. Bring your favorite instrument and join us for a few hours of fun. Everyone is welcome to play, sing, dance or just listen. We will have coffee and snacks for you. You do not have to be an Elk member to utilize the bar. Cover charge is $5 but there is no charge for singers or players. POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library’s popular “Needle Arts Series” is back. Crochet is back. The library is happy to provide four crochet sessions in February as part of our ongoing fiber arts series. Mark your calendars now with these dates: Feb.4, 11, 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Please bring your crochet hook and yarn (cotton recommended). Hooks are also available for $5 in our gift shop. There will also be yarn on hand.

POLSON — Join us for the community dance at the Elks on Main Street on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 7-10 p.m. Music is provided by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of classic country and vintage rock and roll. Snacks are provided during the break at 8:30. No Elk membership is required. The cover charge is $5. Come early for a good hamburger as Elk members will be cooking 5-7 p.m. prior to our dance. POLSON — The film “Emanuel,” a documentary, which weaves together the history of race relations in Charleston, South Carolina, in the aftermath of the shooting following a prayer meeting at Mother Emanuel Church, five years ago. The film will be shown at the North Lake County Library in Polson on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. This is a poignant story of justice and faith, love and hate, while examining the healing power of forgiveness. Enjoy warm meal at Journey Be
POLSON — Polson Community Church will be serving lunch on Feb. 13 at Journey Be Christian Church, located at 101 Seventh Ave. W, at the SW corner of First St. W. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. and will consist of two homemade soups; one meat and one without, along with salad, homemade rolls, deserts and coffee. The lunch is provided to help feed those less fortunate and in need of a good, warm, home-cooked meal. All are welcome and please know that religion is not spoken of unless you might ask. It is a place for you to come, enjoy a good meal, be warm and enjoy yourselves. There is no charge for anyone. Three local men, James Manley, Dennis DeVries and Brodie Moll will tell of their recent trip to the sacred site of Machu Picchu in the high Andean peaks of Peru. Daines’ rep to speak at Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — The Lake County Pachyderms invite the community to hear the northwest field representative for Steve Daines, Ron Catlett, speak on the Montana Water Rights Protection Act bill S-3019. On Friday, Feb. 28, from noon to 1 p.m. Catlett will share on behalf of the Senator’s office reasons why Daines introduced the bill and why he believes it is in the best interest of Montanans to see it passed in Congress. The meeting takes place at the Polson Rural Fire Station off Regatta Road in Polson.
