Walgreens holds pumpkin carving, painting contest
POLSON — I wanted to tell you about our second annual Pumpkin Carving/ Painting Contest at the Polson Walgreens. A winner will be chosen by the public and will receive a $25 gift card. Have entries in by Friday, Oct. 27, to be entered. Happy carving.

Drug Take Back event to be held at Walgreens
POLSON — Walgreens is hosting the Polson Police Department on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for a DEA Drug Take Back event. Customers can bring in unused/expired medications and we will dispose of them free of charge.
LWML rally planned
POLSON — The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will hold its fall rally on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Polson. A day of Bible study on life issues and a presentation by Jennifer Rolfsness in regard to Helping Hands and the ‘Baby Box’ project will be the day’s highlights. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a $5 donation that includes luncheon and materials. If you have questions, call 406-360-8995.
View the moon through telescope
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library invites all to our very own International Observe the Moon Night event on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m. We will have a brief, family-friendly presentation followed by several handson activities and the chance to take a peek at the moon through a telescope. This event has been made possible by the North Lake County Public Library’s NASA@ MyLibrary grant, the generosity of our local residents, and a little elbow grease. We hope to launch an amateur astronomy club in Polson over the next year, and hope you’ll come on board even if you can’t attend every event. Bazaar proceeds benefit Mission Outreach
POLSON — The annual Fall Bazaar and luncheon is being held at the United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E, on Friday, Nov. 3. Lunch menu offers soup, sandwich, apple dumpling topped with ice cream from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Art, crafts, baked goods will be sold from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. All proceeds benefit local and church-wide Mission Outreach.

Music lovers asked to join in
Polson — Northwest Accordion Jam is the first Sunday of each month. All singers, players, viewers and dancers are welcome to join in from 2-5 p.m. at the Elks Club on Main St. Bring your guitars, drums, saxophones, accordions, etc. and join us.

'Sparkle On’ at the library
POLSON — “Sparkle On,” an adult coloring program, will be held at North Lake County Public Library in Polson on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 2:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. The theme of this pre-holiday program is “all things glittery.” A new trend in the world of coloring relaxation is Paint by Sticker. There will be projects available to try, along with coloring supplies and tasty fall snacks. If you have some sparkly jewelry, wear it to the program. The library is located at 2 First Ave. E. Free meditation classes offered
POLSON — Zen Meditation Class is being offered at the YogaHeart Studio, 314 Main St., on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. The classes will be presented by Zen Priest Zenku, Jerry Smyers. There is no charge for the class. Everyone is welcome. For more details call 406-847-721-0665
Health foundation holds meeting
POLSON — A community meeting for the Mission Valley will be held on Nov. 8, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. The Headwaters Health Foundation of Western Montana invites you to a community conversation about health care-related challenges and opportunities in Mission Valley and surrounding area. Share your perspective in two areas: behavioral health and social determinants of health, particularly as they relate to children and American Indian populations - why are these the right issues for the Foundation to tackle - what strengths does our community bring to these issues - of the roles a foundation can play (grant maker, community organizer, knowledge sharer, etc.), which are the most important to support your community? Rural Fire District board to meet
POLSON — The regular monthly meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District Board of Trustees will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. at Fairgrounds Station No. 1 meeting room, 25-B Regatta Rd. Monthly and special meetings have changed their meeting times permanently to 6 p.m.
