Salomon speaks to Pachyderm Club
POLSON — Dan Salomon, a candidate for election to Montana State Senate District 47, will be the featured speaker at the Friday, Oct. 28, meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. The Lake County Pachyderm Club meets at the Rural Polson Fire Department building on Regatta Road near the fairgrounds. Social time starts at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting begins at noon and concludes at 1 p.m. All those interested in being informed about what is going on in state government are cordially invited to attend.

Enjoy Halloween in Polson
POLSON — The Polson Business Community is celebrating Halloween witha Pumpkin Painting Contest, Trick or Treating at participating businesses Monday, Oct. 31, and a costume contest. Bring painted pumpkins to First Interstate Bank on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 24 and 25. Pick up a costume contest number from Cove Deli between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Oct. 31, and pin it on your costume before trick-or-treating downtown.

Chamber to hear from Mayor Knutson
POLSON — On Wednesday, Nov. 2, members of the Polson Chamber of Commerce will receive an update concerning the state of the city from Polson Mayor Heather Knutson and City Manager Mark Shrives. The luncheon is scheduled for the KwaTaqNuk Resort from noon-1 p.m. Cost of the luncheon will be $11. Reservations for the luncheon are not required. For additional information call 406-883- 5969.

Whistleblower to speak, sign books
POLSON — Philip Haney, whistleblower whose Department of Homeland Security investigation could have stopped the California shooting, will speak and sign books at the KwaTaqNuk Resort in Polson on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 6:30 p.m. Please note that this is a change in location and date and will replace the regular Lake County ACT for America second Monday meeting for November.

Kiwanis Club to hear from animal rescue
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort in the Koostatah room from noon to 1 p.m. Come join us Thursday, Nov. 3, when our speakers will be Karen Duty, president and Lynette Duford, vice-president of Life Savers Animal Rescue.

Fall Bazaar on tap
POLSON — The First United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E, will have their annual Fall Bazaar on Friday, Nov. 4. The menu consists of soup and sandwiches topped off with an apple dumpling and ice cream and will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Art, homemade crafts and baked goods will be sold from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Proceeds will be used for local and church-wide Mission Outreach.
Juras to speak at Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — Kristen Juras, a non-partisan candidate for the Montana Supreme Court, will be the featured speaker at a special meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club on Friday, Nov. 4. Her presentation will give voters an opportunity to hear what she believes the role of the Supreme Court should be and to hear her reasons for wanting to serve on the Montana Supreme Court. While the meeting date has been moved up a week, the Pachyderms will meet as usual at the Polson Rural Fire Department on Regatta Road. The meeting begins at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m. This will be the only meeting in November. All interested in knowing more about the Montana Supreme Court are encouraged to attend.

Pasty Lunch served on Election Day
POLSON — The First Presbyterian Church of Polson will hold its bi-annual Election Day Pasty Lunch and Sale on Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The Presbyterian Church is at 301 Fourth Ave. E directly across the street from the Linderman Gymnasium. Adults may buy a pasty lunch for $6 and children’s lunches are $3. Frozen pasties may be purchased for $3 apiece.

POLSON — The Polson Rural Fire District Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station.

Masumola Club plans November meeting
POLSON — Masumola Club will meet Thursday, Nov. 10. Hosts for the November meeting will be: Walsh, Goldsmith, Mary Jensen. Suggested food distribution: A–H dessert, I–O salad or vegetable, P–Z hot dish. Meeting begins at 5:45 p.m. for social hour.
Young professionals to gather
POLSON — The next get-together for the Mission Valley Professionals will be at Glacier Brewery on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 5-7 p.m. The group provides a place for young professionals to share ideas, interact and provide community service projects.
