Advent services Wednesdays through Dec. 21
POLSON — Midweek Advent services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Nov. 30, and continue each Wednesday through Wednesday, Dec. 21. Soup supper will start at 5:30 p.m. with the services starting at 6:30 p.m. The theme is “The Ultimate Advent.”
Hear about life on ‘Mars’
POLSON — “A Year on Mars” by Carmel Johnston, will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s next program on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Polson Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome. Carmel Johnston, Commander of HI-SEAS Mission 4, will discuss what it is like to live for a year on Mars. The NASA-funded project constructed a habitat dome high on a Hawaiian volcano, similar to the harsh conditions and rocky terrain that future astronauts will encounter on the red planet.
Johnston grew up in Whitefish and earned a bachelor and a master degree in Land Resources and Environmental Science from Montana State University.

Community Dinner relocated
POLSON — Immaculate Conception Church hosts the free Community Dinner the first Friday of every month but on December 2 it coincides with the Polson Downtown Parade of Lights so the location is changing for December only. The Polson Business Association will be serving chili at the Hallmark Store and the Immaculate Conception Church will serve chili outside Mrs. Wonderful’s. Please join us before the parade.
Mission Valley Live presents ‘Two Bit Franks’
POLSON — Mission Valley Live presents “Two Bit Franks” on Friday, Dec. 2, at Polson High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. This concert brings homegrown original music, classic bluegrass and some great adaptations to tunes you never imagined. Two Bit Franks features some of the finest bluegrass musicians in Montana. Tickets are available at R & R Health Care Solutions, Ronan True Value in Ronan or First Interstate Bank and Vine & Tap in Polson. In-advance tickets sell for $13 each or tickets at-thedoor sell for $15 each. Admission is free for kids 18 years old and under. Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. New gallery holds open house
POLSON — Takes Horse Gallery would like to invite everyone to an open house on Dec. 2 from 4-7 p.m. Fry bread sticks and berry soup dip appetizers will be served.
Parade with lights for Christmas
POLSON — The 2016 Parade of Lights for Lake County will take place at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Polson on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Trophies, prizes, Christmas tree lighting and the arrival of Santa are all on tap. “If it moves and has lights it’s an entry.” Categories for parade prizes are: agriculture, best Christmas message, commercial individual or family, judge’s vhoice, most humorous, non-profit and youth. POLSON — Downtown Polson’s Open House continues on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity for nonprofits, school, civic organizations, churchs, carolers, and entertainers to participate along the sidewalk.

Accordionists to jam
POLSON — The Northwest Montana Accordion Association will hold an accordion jam on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 2-5:30 p.m. at the Elks in Polson.
Wednesday, December 7
Chamber holds general meeting
POLSON — On Wednesday, Dec. 7, members of the Polson Chamber of Commerce will hear from Kimberly Weaver and Darah Fogarty, Multi-Media Specialists with Hagadone Digital. They will discuss ways in which the Polson Chamber and its members can work together to enhance the business climate and promote the Polson area. The luncheon is scheduled for the KwaTaqNuk Resort from noon-1 p.m. Cost of the luncheon will be $14.50. Reservations for the luncheon are not required. Commemorate 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor attack
POLSON — The Miracle of America Museum will remember the fateful day of Dec. 7, 1941, with its permanent and poignant exhibits of WW II and the attack on Pearl Harbor. The public is invited to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the attack with a free program starting at 6 p.m. beginning in the public meeting room. There will be a slideshow, a song, a tribute wall/exhibit viewing and a showing of the movie, “TORA! TORA! TORA!” Treats are welcome. For more information call Gil at 406-270-7895.
Conservatives welcome at LCRCC meeting
POLSON — All interested conservatives are welcome to attend the monthly meeting of the Lake County Republican Central Committee. The next meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Polson Rural Fire Station. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Come to the Sheriff’s conference room at the back of the building. POLSON — The December Friendship Table Dinner is on Friday, Dec. 9, from 5-6:30 p.m. Polson Presbyterian Church is located across from the Linderman School. Come join us. This dinner is free and open to all.
