Mission Valley Elks host Hoop Shoot, Free Throw contest
POLSON — On Sunday, Dec. 8, in the Polson High School gymnasium the Mission Valley Elks will host a Hoop Shoot, Free Throw contest. Registration and warm up is from 1:30-2 p.m. and the contest begins at 2 p.m. Boys and girls ages 8-13 (age as of April 1, 2020) living in Polson, Ronan and all the surrounding areas are invited. There is no cost to participate and no admission charge. Categories include: 8- to 9-year-old boys and 8- to 9-year-old girls; 10- to 11-year-old boys and 10- to 11-year-old girls; and 12- to 13-year-old boys and 12- to 13-year-old girls. Winners of each age group advance to the District Contest on Jan. 11. Free chili and hotdogs will be served for each contestant and their families after the shoot at the Polson Elks club. Library closed for staff development
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will be closed for a staff development day on Thursday, Dec. 12. The Library will reopen on Friday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m.

Concert to benefit Toys for Tots
POLSON — The Lake Bar presents a free “Make a Kid Smile” concert on Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. to closing. Bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program and listen to three bands perform: “Off in the Woods,” “The Slickbacks,” and “Free Radicals.”

Make peppermint scrub
POLSON— On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the North Lake County Public Library will host a Flipster Fun Series beginning at 5 p.m. We will make peppermint sugar scrub. We found the instructions in Willow and Sage winter edition. Make a gift for someone special or to treat yourself. All supplies will be provided. Please RSVP by Dec. 16. Join community dance fun
POLSON — Please join us for the community dance at the Elks on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 7-10 p.m. Music is provided by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of classic country and vintage rock and roll. Snacks are provided during the 8:30 p.m. Refreshments may be purchased in the bar next door. No Elks membership is required. The cover charge is $5. Come early as Elks members cook up some good hamburgers for purchase from 5-7 p.m., prior to the dance. Everyone is welcome. Come check us out.
Rural Fire District Board to meet
POLSON — The regular monthly meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District board of trustees will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station No. 1, 25-B Regatta Rd. The meeting agenda is available on the Monday prior to the meeting at the website: lakemt.gov/prfd.

Providence hosts SPLASH, ends food drive
POLSON — Providence St. Joseph Medical Center and Glacier Bank will culminate their holiday season food drive on Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Polson Chamber of Commerce SPLASH held between 5-7 p.m. at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, 6 Thirteenth Ave E.
