Hospital teaches CPR classes
POLSON — In honor of Heart Health Month in February, Providence St. Joseph Medical Center will conduct free adult CPR classes every Saturday from 9-11 a.m. and again from 1-3 p.m. For more information or to sign up, contact Cindy Hagen at (406) 883-7488.
MVCA to hold auctions, dinner
POLSON — Mission Valley Christian Academy’s “Staying Alive” disco-themed auction fundraiser and dinner celebration is scheduled for Feb. 28. School supporters and community partners will share their talents and services in celebration of Christian education and for financial support.
This year’s event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the school, located 2 miles east on Hwy 35. Both a live and silent auction will take place and special baskets will also be auctioned. Vista Linda of Somers will cater the meal. Accordionists to jam
POLSON — The Northwest Accordion Association will hold a jam session on Sunday, March 1, from 2-5:30 p.m. at the VFW.
Stations of the Cross done Lutheran Style through March 25
POLSON — Lenten soup suppers and worship services will be held each Wednesday, Feb. 18-March 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Suppers are at 5:30 p.m., followed by worship services at 6:30 p.m.
“Stations of the Cross Lutheran Style,” will begin in Bethlehem, go to Nazareth and Capernaum, to the Upper Room and the Garden of Gethsemane, the Antonia Fortress and Palace of Caiaphas, ending on Good Friday at Golgotha. We will consider these “stations,” sing hymns and pray. Good Shepherd is located at 409 Fourth Ave., E in Polson. POLSON — Ken’s Country Combo will play at the Elks on Wednesday, March 4 from 7- 10 p.m. Bring treats and your friends to this community dance.
Mariners to hold signups
POLSON — The Mission Valley Mariners Legion Baseball will have a team signups on Wednesday, March 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Polson High School auditorium. All new and returning players will receive the player packets, which include all team related information, signup forms and American Legion Baseball requirements and the Mariner team costs. Baseball players from any of the Reservation communities are encouraged participate. The Mariners hope to have enough youth interested in the program this season to continue to field two teams (A and B teams). For additional information, call Tom McDonald at (406) 261-4425.
Veteran presentations at library
POLSON – Local veterans will offer a free public presentation at North Lake County Public Library in Polson on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 p.m. The program will focus on the highly acclaimed book “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien. Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be served. The key speaker will be Sgt. Chuck Lewis, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran from Ronan.

Elks' crab crack to raise funds for roof
POLSON — The annual Crab Crack at the Polson Elks club will be held Saturday, March 7. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. All you can eat crab festival; steak option is available for those who prefer beef. Tickets are $35 and available at the Polson Elks Lodge, seating is limited so don’t wait. Open to the public. This event is a fundraiser for the Elks. They are hoping to raise funds for a much needed new roof.

POLSON — Miracle of America Museum will present “Meet Herman Schnitzmeyer,” on Thursday, March 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be a display of his original photo equipment and life story by historian Dennis Kellogg, an avid Schnitzmeyer collector. POLSON — North Lake County Public Library will host special one-hour programs for children ages 3-5 years old and their caregivers. School District discussed at Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — Dr. Linda Reksten, Superintendent of School District 23, and Pam Owen, Business Manager for School District 23, will be the featured speakers at the Friday, March 13 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. The business meeting begins at noon, adjourns at 1 p.m., and is held at the Polson Rural Fire Department Hall on Regatta Road near the Polson Fairgrounds.
All are welcome to attend. Social time begins at 11:30 a.m. Bring a brown bag lunch.
