POLSON — Lake County Sheriff Don Bell, Polson Police Chief Wade Nash, and Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Police Chief Craige Couture, all members of the Lake County Drug Enforcement Team, will speak about the county’s drug issues and solutions at the Monday, Feb. 6, meeting of the Lake County Republican Women’s Club to be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Sheriff’s room of the Polson Rural Fire Department building on Regatta Road.

POLSON — Jim Simpson, chairman of the Lake County Conservation District and retired forester, will be the featured speaker at the Friday, Feb. 10, meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. He will describe the proposed establishment of a 60,000-acre Conservation Forest on U.S. Forest Service land in the Swan Valley, all within the boundaries of the LCCD and Lake County. The meeting begins at noon, adjourns at 1 p.m., and is held in the Rural Polson Fire Department Building, 25 Regatta Road, Polson. The meeting is open to the public.

POLSON - The February Friendship Table Dinner is coming up on Feb. 10, from 5-6:30 p.m. Polson Presbyterian Church is located across from the Linderman School. Come join us. This dinner is free and open to all.

POLSON — The 16th Annual All In Stitches Quilt Walk Around Polson quilt show starts today. Everyone is invited to vote for their favorite quilts displayed in businesses on Main Street from Feb. 11-22. You can pick up your ballots at All In Stitches. Ribbons will be hung on the winning quilts on Feb. 23 and quilts will be on display through Feb. 25.

POLSON — Sunburst Mental Health Services is putting on a benefit at the Polson Elks Club on Saturday, Feb. 11, with musicians Jack Gladstone, Troy La-Roche, the Hot Flash Blues Band and Buffalo and Rose performing. A silent auction starts at 5 p.m. with a Tribal blessing and music to follow until midnight. Tickets are $20-$35 per couple in advance and $25-$40 per couple at the door. POLSON — The Mission Valley Ice Arena Association invites the community to celebrate winter at their first WinterFest in Polson from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Riverside Park. The event includes free broomball lessons and short games. The broomball game, similar to hockey, does not require a special ice surface or skates. Special edition MVIAA jerseys, 50/50 tickets and rifle raffle tickets will be available for purchase to help the group meet their $25,000 matching funds challenge to build the proposed ice rink. Park on the street above the park, or in the First Citizen’s Bank lot, and use caution walking down the hill or stairs.

POLSON — The Lake County Chapter of ACT for America will meet Monday, Feb. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the downstairs of the KwaTaq-Nuk. A free documentary movie, “The Enemies Within,” by New Zealander Trevor Loudon, will be shown followed by a discussion. POLSON — North Lake County Public Library presents Story Time on Thursdays for 3-5 year olds at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The one-hour program includes reading, rhymes, and crafts. This week’s story theme is “How do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food?”
