Color away mid-winter grays
POLSON — “Pop of Color,” an adult coloring program, will be in the large meeting room from 2-4 p.m. Are mid-winter gray days starting to take a toll? A pop of color is what we need. We provide snacks and all coloring projects and supplies (or you may also bring your own.) Judge Christopher to speak on drug-endangered children at Kiwanis Club meeting
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday of each month at the KwaTakNuk, in the Koostahtah room from noon-1 p.m. On Feb. 7 our guest speaker will be the Honorable Deborah Kim Christopher who will speak on drug-endangered children in Lake County. Everyone is welcome.

Enjoy annual 'Quilt Walk Around Polson'
POLSON – Join us for All In Stitches’ annual quilt show “Quilt Walk Around Polson.” Quilts will hang in businesses on Main Street from Saturday, Feb. 9 through Saturday, Feb. 23. Plan to take some time to pick up a ballot at All In Stitches and walk around Polson to vote on your favorite quilts by Feb. 20. Winning ribbons will be hung Feb. 21. Final day to apply to library board of trustees
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library District election for two seats on the Board of Trustees will be held May 7, 2019. If you are interested in running for the library board, pick up a Declaration for Nomination and Oath of Candidacy form at the library or at the County Election Office. Filing closes at 5 p.m. on Feb. 11. There is no filing fee or petition needed.

Rural fire district board to meet
POLSON – The regular monthly meeting of the Polson rural fire district board of trustees will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station number 1, 25B Regatta Rd. The agenda is available on the Monday prior to the meeting on the website: polsonruralfiredistrict.org.

Don’t miss ‘Mission Valley Has Talent’ deadline
POLSON — Register by Feb. 15 for the Mission Valley Has Talent contest. MVHT is a fundraiser for the Helping Hands Fund. Talent show rules and registration forms are available at: www.missionvalleyhastalent. org, and at schools and many businesses in Lake County. Contestants can register and pay fees online, or download a registration form, complete, include the fee and mail to the Helping Hands Fund, P.O. 1094, Polson, MT 59860. All forms and fees must be in the HHF office by Feb. 15. Questions can be directed to Helping Hands Fund office by calling 406-883- 8256. The 2019 event is scheduled for March 15.

Dance at Elks
POLSON — Please join us for the community dance at the Elks on Main Street on Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 7-10 p.m. Music is by Ken’s Combo Band and they play a variety of vintage country and rock and roll as we dance the night away in the ballroom. Snacks are provided during the 8:30 p.m. break. Everyone is welcome. No Elks membership is required. Cover charge for the evening is $5. Come and check us out.
Democrats discuss AIS
POLSON — Lake County Democrats are hosting Tom Bansak, assistant director of the Flathead Lake Biological Station, and Tom McDonald, Fish and Wildlife Division Manager of the Flathead Indian Reservation, at the Polson library on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. They will provide an update on aquatic invasive species issues in Montana with a special focus on the Flathead region. This meeting is open to all area citizens interested in learning more about the growing threat of AIS in Montana.
