CASA Golf Scramble, barbecue, auction planned
POLSON — The 11th annual CASA Golf Scramble takes place at Polson Golf Course on April 22 with 9 a.m. registration and a 11 a.m. shotgun start. There will also be a Hole-In-One Event, a barbecue celebration and an auction following golf. Proceeds benefit CASA of Lake and Sanders Counties who train advocates for neglected and abused children. Polson School Board holds Candidates Forum
POLSON — The Polson community is invited to participate in a candidates' forum with the three candidates who are vying for the two available seats on Polson School District board. The forum is sponsored by Polson Education Association and will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, in the Polson High School Library. The election of these board members will take place on May 2.

Bansak to address Audubon group
POLSON — “Shrimp, Salmon, Trout and Mussels: Invasive Seafood Chowder in Flathead Lake” by Tom Bansak will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s program on Thursday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in the Polson Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome.

POLSON — North Lake County Library presents Story Time on Thursdays for 3-5 year olds at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The one-hour program includes reading, rhymes, and crafts. This week’s story theme is “Bug Off!”
View movie ‘Harry’s War’ at MOAM
POLSON — On April 27, at 6:30 p.m. Miracle of America’s Free Night at the Museum event will show the movie, “Harry’s War.” A postal worker quits his job to fight against the IRS who had unjustly treated his Aunt Beverly who owned a military surplus yard. Harry has to use a WWII halftrack (like the museum displays out front) to fight for justice. The museum displays some of the actual movie props. Come enjoy this “fourth Tuesday” event and enjoy a classic family movie with background discussion and a display tour of select items.

Weaver to address Pachyderm Club
POLSON – Ronan Police Chief Kenneth J. Weaver is slated to be the guest speaker at the Friday, April 28, Pachyderm Club meeting. Weaver will address issues facing small law enforcement agencies, particularly the lack of officers. He will also speak about how the possible loss of Public Law 280 will affect the Ronan Police Department. Lake County Pachyderm meetings are held in the Polson Rural Fire Dept. building on Regatta Road from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome.

Non-Partisan Potluck focuses on special election
POLSON — Please join Mission Valley Rises for our second, Non-Partisan Potluck for Democracy. We will meet on Sunday, April 30, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Indian Senior Citizens Center, 701 First Street E. Our focus will be on Montana’s Special Election on May 25. We will meet with the candidates’ representatives, ask our questions, and share our ideas. We will also learn more about how, as individuals and in groups, we can be more effectively engaged in our democracy. People of all persuasions are encouraged to join us in a civil dialogue about the things that matter to us in our community, state and nation. Bring your ideas – and a dish to share. We will once again enjoy good food, listen to one another, and make new friends.

View ‘The Joy of Friendship’ exhibit through May 12
POLSON — The Sandpiper Gallery will exhibit “The Joy of Friendship,” a mixed media artwork show from April 10-May 12. This exhibit features member artists Olivia Olsen (mixed media), Larry Kjorvestad (photography), long time member Margie Hendricks (painter), jewelry by Sherry Jones, and guest fiber artist Monique Kleinhans, of Lady Bugs Cabin.

Medicare 101 Class offered
POLSON — The Medicare 101 class is for anyone turning 65 this year. There are many decisions to make, deadlines to meet and penalties to avoid. The Area VI Agency on Aging is offering the class on Tuesday, May 2, from 1-4 p.m. at the Lake Co Health Dept. meeting room, 802 Main Street. Those already on Medicare who’d like to understand it better are also welcome. The fee for the class is $30 or less, determined on a sliding scale. Energy Keepers CEO to address Polson Chamber
POLSON — On Wednesday, May 3, members of the Polson Chamber of Commerce will receive an update from Energy Keepers CEO Brian Lipscomb. Energy Keepers is a corporation of the Salish and Kootenai Tribes established to operate Séliš Ksanka Ql’ispé (formerly Kerr) Dam. The luncheon will be held at the KwaTaqNuk Resort from noon- 1 p.m. Cost for lunch is $14.50. Reservations are not required. Area school superintendents to address Pachyderm Club
POLSON — Area school superintendents Rex Weltz of Polson, Mark Johnson of Ronan, and Jason Sargent of St. Ignatius will be guest speakers at a special meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club, at noon, Friday, May 5, 2017, at the Polson Rural Fire Dept. Building on Regatta Road. Their topic will be Senate Bill 307.

Republicans organize, elect officers
POLSON — The Lake County Republican Central Committee will be holding its county convention on Friday, May 5. The purpose of the meeting is to organize itself and elect new officers for the next two years. There will also be a discussion on how to get the word out to our county on the importance of supporting Greg Gianforte for the US Congress.
