POLSON – Please join us at the North Lake County Public Library every Thursday at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for a one-hour program for children ages 3-5, their siblings and their caregivers. The program for April 26 is “What is your DNA?”
Tour pioneer village at MOAM event
POLSON — The free “Night at the Museum,” event will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane. By request, we will be doing an outside walking tour of the outside museum pioneer village with explanations of the history of some of the buildings and artifacts. Learn about Boys and Girls Club plans
POLSON — You are invited to hear a speaker at the Pachyderm meeting from noon – 1 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at the Rural Fire Station off Regatta Road. Amy Vaughan, the director of operations for the Boy and Girls Club, will share updates on what the organization is doing to build capacity and impact through various projects in Lake county. The organization plans a new facility in Polson across from the Middle School, which will include a Community Center.
PHS students serve spaghetti, perform play
POLSON — Polson High School students will perform the play, “Reality Stars: Greek Gods Edition” by Jonathon Yukich. At 7 p.m. on April 27 and 28 at the Polson High School Auditorium. The cost is $5 for students and $7 for adults. The Spanish Club will host a spaghetti dinner from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the PHS cafeteria for $5 each or $20 for a family.

Join ‘Moving for Better Balance’
POLSON — Moving for Better Balance, an evidence-based, adapted Tai Chi class, will be offered by the Area VI Agency on Aging on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11 a.m. for 12 weeks, May 1-July 19. Classes will be held at the Polson Senior Center. The fee is $35 for senior center members, $50 for non-members (they get a membership included), but everything is on a slidingscale. New exhibit begins at Sandpiper Gallery through May 11
POLSON — The exhibit, “It’s All About The Timing” will be shown at the Sandpiper Gallery, 306 Main Street, from April 9-May 11. This exhibit features member artists Nathan Eyre (wood); Patrick Berry (acrylic) ; Barb Shrider (watercolor) ; Willie DeJana (mixed media); and guest artists Kristy Humble (found art); Kody Bundy (scratchboard).

Free Zen Meditation class offered

Join the community dance
POLSON — Calling all of you who love classic country music to come and join us at our next dance from 7-10 p.m., on Wednesday, May 2, at the Elks on Main Street. The Band also plays music from the '50s, '60s and '70s. If you like hamburgers, the Elks puts out a pretty good one before the dance. The cost of the dance is $5 per person. Come and enjoy yourselves.

Tribal Police Chief speaks to Kiwanis Club
POLSON — Polson Kiwanis Club will meet at noon on Thursday, May 3, downstairs at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Police Chief Craige Couture will be the speaker. He will talk about law enforcement from the perspective of the Tribal Police. He will highlight what additional resources are available to at-risk tribal youth. The public is welcome to attend.

Cleanup in Polson
POLSON — On Friday through Sunday, May 4-6, Polson will hold their annual “Clean Up! Green Up!” event. On Friday go the North Lake County Library Atrium Room at 2 First Ave. E from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. to pick up trash bags, gloves and assignment area for cleanup. Refreshments will be available there also. Shred Day will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Glacier Bank, 50510 Highway 93. Two boxes per person are allowed. City of Polson Curbside Pick Up will also take place on Friday, May 4. Have your leaves and branches on the curb by 8 a.m. for “free” pickup. No garbage please.
Come visit first day of Polson Farmers Market
POLSON — The first day of Polson’s 2018 Famers Market season takes place on Friday, May 4, in downtown on Third Ave. W from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The market offers locally made baked goods, fabric creations, jewelry, crafts, photography, homegrown vegetables and more. Silver Ring Thing’ event held at PMS
POLSON — The National Tour for Silver Ring Thing is taking a stop in Lake County at the Polson Middle School on May 4 from 7-9 p.m. A special parent session will be offered at 7 p.m. Silver Ring Thing is an international youth ministry that defies today’s culture of the “meet-up, hook-up, break-up” mindset that contributes to brokenness. The organization’s newest tour, Explicit Truth: Leaving nothing merely implied, presents the truth about love, relationships, sexuality and identity. Ticket prices will be $6 online, $8 at the door, and Silver Ring Thing is offering a special group discount for groups for $5 online. 'UnVariety Show' raises funds for SKC, embraces diversity
POLSON — A bigger, better, and certainly more amazing UnVariety Show 2.0 is heading to Polson on Saturday, May 5, at 7 p.m. at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Last year’s event drew more than 200 participants who watched a range of unforgettable performers and then capped the night with a karaoke marathon. Co-hosted by the Salish Kootenai College Spirit of Many Colors, SAFE Harbor and ACLU Montana, it is a night to embrace diversity, celebrate individuality and share in a high level of laughter. This is a night to promote human rights and to embrace “everyone’s value.” The event is also a fundraiser for scholarships at Salish Kootenai College and everyone is welcome. POLSON — A free blacksmith “Hammer-In” will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane. Safety glasses and non-flammable clothing and shoes are required as well as parental or guardian slips for minors. These are available for new participants at the museum. Polson Chamber holds ‘Meet and Greet’ event
POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate “Meet and Greet” event on Wednesday, May 9, at the North Lake County Library from 6-8 p.m. Candidates vying for Lake County Sheriff and District 20 District Court Judge, along with democratic candidates for House District 93 will be on hand. Each candidate will explain why they are the best candidate in their race. Candidates will be available for questions afterwards. Refreshments will be served.
