Donate to 4th of July fireworks show
POLSON — The Polson 4th of July fireworks show has become a tradition for our area, brought to you by the Polson Chamber of Commerce. This tradition is funded entirely by donations from our local community members. The chamber is now accepting donations at the downtown office next to the Showboat Theatre, or by mail at 418 Main St, Polson MT 59860. Any amount you care to give is appreciated. The Marine Corp League Hellroaring Detachment will hold their annual fireworks fundraising drive Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Highway 93. Please give what you can.
Free lifesaver clinic offered for youths
POLSON — Mission Valley Aquatics and The Lake Monsters Swim Team will offer a free Junior Lifesaver Clinic on Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m.-noon. The clinic is open to children ages 11-14 and will include lifeguard demonstrations, hands-on practice, and pool/lake safety information. Bring your swimsuit and a willing attitude. Polson sets date for ‘Chamber Blast’
POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce’s annual ‘Chamber Blast’ is on Saturday, June 25, at Polson Shooting Range. We will start with a quick beginner’s shooting clinic, followed by a shooter’s safety briefing. There will be a barbecue lunch and awards ceremony from 12:30-1:30 p.m. The cost is $110 per shooter, $330 per three-person team. Bring shotgun, eye protection, and ear protection. No experience necessary. The registration deadline is June 17. Send registration and checks to: Polson Chamber of Commerce.
Take class, ‘What Am I Feeding My Dog?’
POLSON — Learn more about dog behavior and your relationship with your best friend. Take a free class on Saturday, June 25, from 2-3 p.m. at Mission Valley Animal Shelter. This class is on “What Am I Feeding My Dog?” This class is open to everyone age 8 and over. Call 406-883-5312 for details and register.

G-Force in Polson next week
POLSON — G-Force Vacation Bible Camp begins Monday, June 27, at the Polson United Methodist Church. Kids entering kindergarten through age 12, can experience the G-Force, God’s Love in Action Camp from 9 a.m.-noon, June 27- July 1. Kids will experience love through fun activities including music, puppets, story-time, games, science, crafts and mission. A light snack will be served. Camp will end with a Friday Celebration Day picnic provided for the campers and their families from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. A “Registration Day” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, June 23, is scheduled at the church. Vacation Bible School planned
POLSON — Fellowship Baptist Church on the corner of Seventh Ave. E and Main Street, is planning a Vacation Bible School for children in first-sixth grades, June 27-July 1. The program is free and goes from 9 a.m.-noon and includes healthy, hearty snacks, Bible missions, games, crafts, and music. Y’all come.

Enjoy ‘Smoke on the Waters’ documentary
POLSON — A free “Night at the Museum” at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane, takes place on the fourth Thursday evening of each month. The programs start at 6:30 p.m. Treats and donations are happily accepted. If you have questions call 406- 883-6804. The fourth Thursday program was mis-dated on our quarterly newsletter; therefore we will show an historical movie on June 30. Back by request will be a re-showing of the Montana Centennial documentary, “Smoke on the Waters.” This movie is about steamboats on Flathead Lake, plus a segment covering the Paul Bunyan, the only remaining logging tow boat of Flathead Lake. Another short film will be shown covering early-day logging in the area. Time permitting; a tour of the Paul Bunyan and related artifacts in the museum collection will take place.

Neil Simon’s ‘Fools’ to play in Polson
POLSON — The Port Polson Players in Association with the Mission Valley Friends of the Arts present “Fools” a comedy by Neil Simon. Shows will take place Wednesday-Saturday, July 1-17, at 8 p.m., Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. The Theater on the Lake is located on Highway 93 S at Boettcher Park. Chamber sponsors 4th of July parade, fireworks
POLSON — The Polson Chamber is again sponsoring the Polson 4th of July parade as well as the fireworks show scheduled for that evening. Those wanting to volunteer to help with the parade are asked to contact the Polson Chamber at 406-883-5969.
Eat ice cream at Flathead Historical Museum
The Polson Flathead Historical Museum on Main Street will offer free admission and an ice cream social right after the noon parade on the Fourth of July. Stop by and cool off.

Join the 4th of July Parade
POLSON — Join the July 4th Parade in downtown Polson beginning at noon. Parade entry forms are available at the Chamber office and must be returned to the Chamber office by July 3. The parade begins at Cherry Valley Elementary School, heads down Main Street, turning at Third Ave. and ends on the following block. Stop by the Chamber office at 418 Main Street before the parade and purchase a glass of fresh lemonade, all proceeds support the Community Fireworks Show. For more information call 406-883-5969.

POLSON — Because of the activities surrounding the Fourth of July celebration, the Polson Chamber of Commerce has decided not to hold the regularly scheduled luncheon meeting on Wednesday, July 6. Scheduled speaker, Webb Brown of the Montana State Chamber of Commerce will speak at the Chamber’s September meeting instead.
Republicans to hold July meeting
POLSON — Lake County Republican Central Committee will hold their monthly meeting on July 6 at the Polson Rural Fire Hall at 6:30 p.m. The State Rules Convention will be discussed and assignments will be made for staffing the Lake County Fair and the Cherry Festival booths.
