‘Band Weaving’ class taught at Sandpiper
POLSON — The Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery will hold “Band Weaving” for children and adults. You can create colorful, patterned, ‘inkle’ woven bands with master weaver Mary Sale. Mariners host annual Firecracker Tournament
POLSON — MV Mariners will be hosting the 23rd Annual Firecracker Tournament this year from June 30- July 4. Eight teams from around Montana and Canada will be at the Baseball Tournament. Season pass holders for the MV Mariners will be able to get in to the tournament free this year. Many activities will take place in addition to the tournament: a home run derby, a pig roast, a movie on the mound, etc.

Parade theme chosen
POLSON — Please join us for the July 4th Parade in downtown Polson beginning at noon. The theme this year is “Small Town Independence.” Parade entry forms are available at the Chamber office. Entry forms must be returned to the Polson Chamber office by July 3. The parade will begin at Cherry Valley Elementary School, head down Main Street, turn at Third Ave. and end on the following block. POLSON —Port Polson Players offer the ever-popular Clark and Bobrick farce, “Murder at the Howard Johnson’s.” This perennial mid-life crisis comedy reunites cast members from the Players’ initial 1988 production. Shoot at ‘Chamber Blast’ at Big Sky Sporting Clays
POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual “Chamber Blast” on Friday, July 7, at Big Sky Sporting Clays from 12:30-4 p.m. The event begins with a quick beginner’s shooting clinic, followed by a shooter’s safety briefing prior to the Sporting Clays Tournament. An awards ceremony is planned for 4:30 p.m. The cost is $110 per shooter or $330 per three-person team. Bring your shotgun, eye and ear protection. No experience is necessary. ‘Live History Days’ on tap
POLSON — Mark your calendars for a funfilled weekend called “Live History Days” at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane, on July 15 and July 16. There will be historic movies Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. There will be ice cream and other concessions; rides on two trains; Army rigs; spinners and wood carvers; a sawmill in action; a jet trainer cockpit; a blacksmith shop; whirling flywheel engines; a tennis ball cannon; a one room schoolhouse, a flint knapper and educational gun exhibits. The “Country Combo” of fiddlers, pickers, singers and accordions will provide listening and dancing entertainment on Saturday. Join the fun, sell your wares and be a part of history. POLSON — Polson Main Street Flathead Cherry Festival will be held Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, July 16, from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Come enjoy the great selection of vendors, Flathead Cherries, homemade cherry pies, cherry quilts on display in store windows, unique arts and crafts, entertainment, sidewalk sales and specials all weekend long. Mud Run supports Boys and Girls Club
POLSON — The third annual Polson Mud Run will be held on Saturday, July 15, at the Polson Fairgrounds. This is a fund raising event for the Flathead Boys and Girls Club. Show up at the Polson Fairgrounds at 9:30 a.m. for the Mud Run of your life and one of the toughest courses combining a challenging mix of climbing, kayaking, and running. Barbecue aficionados battle at fairgrounds
POLSON — Smokin’ on the River begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, at the Polson Fairgrounds, (adjacent to the new Regatta Shoreline Amphitheater). Smokin’ on the River BBQ Battle is a contest for backyard and professional cookers to show off their barbecuing skills. Categories include: sauce, chicken, beef, pork, and open. Awards will be given to first and second place entries. Admission and parking are free, so bring your blankets and lawn chairs and watch the contestants, shop vendor booths, and enjoy music from Thunder Skye. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Coolers and pets are not allowed. Dry camping-style RV spaces are available for contestants and vendors.
