Discounted sports physicals offered
POLSON – Providence St. Joseph Medical Center is offering discounted sports physicals for school athletes on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 3:30-6 p.m. at St. Joseph Medical Center for any Polson athletes for only $30 cash or check. No credit cards or insurance accepted. All proceeds are donated back to the Polson athletics program.

POLSON — North Lake County Public Library weekly activities are on Thursday at 10 a.m. for school-age children. Thursday, Aug. 6, is “Bug Day.”
Friday, August 7
Summerfest begins in Polson
POLSON –– Join us for the annual Summerfest on Flathead Lake on Friday, Aug. 7; Saturday, Aug. 8; and Sunday, Aug. 9. There will be three fun-filled days of numerous activities in the park and on the water on Friday.
On Saturday there will be a car show downtown and the Sandpiper Art Festival will be on the courthouse lawn. There will also be a poker run, a parade, a cruise, and a concert at Riverside Park and more on Saturday.

Sandpiper holds 44th ‘Outdoor Art Festival’
POLSON — The 44th annual Outdoor Art Festival takes place on the Lake County Courthouse lawn on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sandpiper Art Gallery is the sponsor of this event. There will be fine art originals in all media, jewelry, handmade furniture, birdhouses, hand-sewn items, stained glass, rose mauling, pottery, candles and sculpture and many other interesting and unique items.

Skate Jam held at Polson skatepark
POLSON — Polson’s local skaters invite all ages to the annual Skate Jam gathering at the Polson Skatepark on Saturday, Aug. 8, with free skating beginning at noon. Activities will include skills competitions, games of S.K.A.T.E., prizes and snacks.

Community dance to honor waltz king
POLSON — The Wednesday, Aug. 12, dance will honor Don Pederson from Round Butte. It is waltz night, and he was the king of that dance. Don died a year or so ago, and he is missed. He danced with all the women, was a perfect gentleman, and told very funny stories. Please come out to the Elks at 7 p.m. and join all of Don’s friends. Bring a treat to share if you would like.
Learn to make jam
POLSON — The Polson Farmers Market would like to invite you to a free jam-making class from 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Classes are for qualified SNAP recipients only. Upon completion of the class a $20 certificate will be given to purchase local produce. Classes include children’s activities … so bring the kids. MVCA to hold soccer game, luau, dance
POLSON — Mission Valley Christian Academy will hold an alumni soccer game, luau dinner and island dance on Saturday, Aug. 15. The game is at 2 p.m., the luau dinner of pork roast will be served at 5 p.m.
