PSD plans two meetings
POLSON — The Polson School District will have a special board meeting at 4 pm. on Aug. 10 at the district office, 111 Fourth Ave. E. There will be a regular board meeting at 5:30 p.m. that same day and place.

Community dance to honor waltz king
POLSON — The Wednesday, Aug. 12, dance will honor Don Pederson from Round Butte. It is waltz night, and he was the king of that dance. Don died a year or so ago, and he is missed. He danced with all the women, was a perfect gentleman, and told very funny stories. Please come out to the Elks at 7 p.m. and join all of Don’s friends. Bring a treat to share if you would like.
Learn to make jam
POLSON — The Polson Farmers Market would like to invite you to a free jam-making class from 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Classes are for qualified SNAP recipients only. Upon completion of the class a $20 certificate will be given to purchase local produce. Classes include children’s activities … so bring the kids. The location is Polson Flathead Reservation Extension Office, 701-B First Street E. The instructor will be Rene Kittle the MSU extension agent. Discounted sports physicals offered
POLSON – Providence St. Joseph Medical Center is offering discounted sports physicals for school athletes on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 3:30-6 p.m. at St. Joseph Medical Center for any Polson athletes for only $30 cash or check.

Fundraiser for MVAS at Elks
POLSON – Mission Valley Animal Shelter is hosting its “Spay-ghetti and No Meat Balls” Dinner on Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Elks Lodge in Polson, to raise funds for its community spay/neuter program. POLSON — “A Night at the Museum” will take place on Thursday, Aug. 13, (the second Thursday), at 6:30 pm at Miracle of America Museum. The best of Victor Borge will be shown and is guaranteed to provide a night of laughter and entertainment by the master funnyman of the age. He also works in a few wild notes on his “Pianano” during the 90-minute movie. Admission is free and the family entertainment is fun. POLSON — On Friday, Aug. 14, friends and family of Marv Osher will meet at Boettcher Park, shelter number two, for a barbecue and memorial service. This event will be from 3-8 p.m. and be hosted by PHS class of ‘63. The barbecue will be from 4:30-6 p.m. Bring your own beverage. At 6 p.m. the memorial service for Marv will take place. It’s being called, “Together, Sharing Our Memories Of Marv’s Life.”

MVCA to hold soccer game, luau, dance
POLSON — Mission Valley Christian Academy will hold an alumni soccer game, luau dinner and island dance on Saturday, Aug. 15. The game is at 2 p.m., the luau dinner of pork roast will be served at 5 p.m.
Tickets for the dinner are $10 per person or $35 for a family of five. All are welcome.

Triathlon to include 200 racers
POLSON – The fourth annual Polson Triathlon will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Riverside Park. The race starts at 8:40 a.m. The field will be capped at 200 racers, so don’t wait too long to register.

Public invited to resort tax meeting
POLSON – The Polson Economic Development Committee invites the public to join them Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the Polson Middle School to learn more about the proposed Polson Resort Tax. This meeting is open to the public and public questions and comments are encouraged and appreciated.

Rodeo provides food, entertainment
POLSON — The Flathead River Rodeo will take place on Aug. 20, 21 and 22. The Indian National Finals Tour Rodeo, sponsored by the KwaTaqNuk Resort and Casino and the CSKT Tribes, begins at 7 p.m. each night with live music after the rodeo each night. Food and beverage concessions will be available. There will be a professional bullfighting competition each night following the rodeo performance. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for students and there is no charge for children 6 years and under. This event has been voted Tour Rodeo of the Year for the past three years. POLSON –– The annual Rotary Chili Cook-off will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Riverside Park.
Yard sale, you-dig plants to support Ware-Whipple family
POLSON — The Ware-Whipple family of Aware Wellness Center has to move to Panama in early September due to the respiratory health of their son. On Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a yardsale and a plant share, you dig free sumac, maple, some apples, pears, lots of comfrey, Jerusalem artichokes, sedum, pears to harvest, apples for winter storage, etc., all on donation basis.
The yard sale will have all things related to winter including clothing, coats, ski gear, ice fishing, hunting, guns, ammo, winter sheets, blankets and bed spreads, etc. Long term food storage for sale, too. Come support our family’s future farming in Panama, and come say goodbye. We are so thankful to such a loving community, we will miss you all and welcome you to our winter eco retreat escape Aware Wellness Retreat in northern Panama.

Youth group raises funds for charity
POLSON — Catalyst Youth Group of New Life Christian Center, 1414 Second Street W, is asking all to come and give your support at their spaghetti feed on Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. at the New Life Christian Center. They are raising money for charity. The meal is just $4 per person or $18 dollars for a family of five or more.
