Decker to speak to Republican committee
POLSON — The Lake County Republican Central committee is co-hosting a Get to Know Your Candidates series with the Lake County Pachyderms. On Friday, Sept. 14, from noon-1 p.m., Gale Decker will speak as a candidate for Lake County commissioner. Please come out to meet him and to ask any questions. The meeting takes place at the Polson Rural Fire Department.
Meet, greet, celebrate 50-year PHS reunion
POLSON — Polson High School’s class of 1968 is having their 50th class reunion in September and would like to invite other classmates and former teachers to join them at their “meet and greet” event on Friday, Sept. 14, at the Polson Senior Citizens’ Center, 504 Third Ave. E, from 4-7 p.m.

Science Activity Fair held
POLSON — A Science Activity Fair will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 11a.m.-3 p.m at the North Lake County Public Library. The library’s amateur astronomy club is partnering with the Coalition for Public Understanding of Science, or COPUS, which brings together brilliant scientists and organizations dedicated to science from around the globe. This year they’re throwing a science fair at the library and will give you the chance to interact with internationally acclaimed scientists and experts as well as catch up on developments closer to home, such as the work being done through SciNation on the Flathead Reservation and the library’s NASA @ My Library grant. This event will feature a variety of hands-on displays and activities, as well as freebies and swag while supplies last. Want your picture taken on the surface of the Moon? Want to meet the library’s newest telescope, thanks to the Space Science Institute and other N@ML partners? Join us.
Watch Lake County High School Rodeo
POLSON — Lake County High School Rodeo will be held at Polson Fairgrounds Saturday, Sept. 15, starting at 9:30 a.m. Two rodeos will be run that day. Watch as the girls and boys participate in a wide range of rodeo activities: barrels, saddle broncs, goat tying, and breakaway and possibly there will be sports shooting. Spend an evening with the Constitution
POLSON — You are invited to a free program at the Miracle of America Museum on Constitution Day, Monday, Sept. 17, at 6 p.m. in the evening. A short tour of Constitution-related exhibits will be given and free pocket constitutions will be available. This will be followed by an entertaining, yet profound feature length 2017 movie, “In Search of Liberty,” in which, a man from the past shows a typical American family using wit, magic, and logic, how our Constitution is under attack and what can be done to save it. All welcomed at community dance
POLSON — Please join us for the Community Dance in the ballroom at the Elks on Main Street on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 7-10 p.m. Music is by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of vintage country and rock and roll tunes. Snacks during the break at 8:30 p.m. include cocktails and soft drinks for purchase in the bar. Fountain water is also available. On this night we will celebrate individuals who have had or will be having birthdays with a special cake provided. Everyone is welcome. No Elks membership is required. Cover charge for the evening is $5. Come and check us out.

Hear about Mission Valley Has Talent Contest
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Tuesday each month at the KwaTaq-Nuk Resort downstairs in the Koostatah room from noon-1 p.m. Our speaker on September 20 will be Tillie Marshall who will talk about Helping Hands and the Mission Valley Has Talent contest. The MVHT is a fundraiser for Helping Hands that raised more than $6,000 this year for the fund, a nonprofit ministry supported by the Mission Valley Ministerial Association. For the 2019 MVHT they are seeking people of talent of all types between the ages of 5 to 95. In 2019 there will be age categories for the performers.
