Museum shows ‘The Patriot’
POLSON – On Sept. 10, The Miracle of America Museum will present a feature length film by Columbia Pictures entitled, “The Patriot,” staring Mel Gibson.
This is a fitting film shown one day before National Patriot Day and a week before National Citizenship Day.
Gil will also dry-fire demonstrate a couple of Revolutionary War guns, and explain some of the accessories of the period Minuteman/ Continental Soldier.

Oodles of Noodles at Spaghetti Fundraiser
POLSON — Good Shepherd’s Little Friends Preschool is holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 5 – 8 p.m. The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family. Polson Fire Board reschedules meeting
POLSON — The Polson Rural Fire Board has rescheduled their meeting to Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station, 25 Regatta Road.
Tailgate party on tap at Masumola Club
POLSON — On Thursday, Sept. 10, the Masumola Club begins their meeting with a social time at 5:45 p.m. Come join your neighbors and friends at the clubhouse where the Holms, Clarks and Williamsons will host a barbeque event that is a football tailgate party. Thanks to Jim Sohm for arranging to have Mick Holien, the “Voice of the Grizzlies,” as our guest speaker. Wear your favorite team colors and bring something to grill on the barbecue. The hosts will have the barbecues going and will provide ketchup, mustard, relish and barbecue sauce for those of you who need them. In addition to bringing their own meat to grill, members should also bring a dish to share: Those with a last name beginning with A – H should bring a dessert, I – O should bring a salad or vegetable and P – Z should bring a hot dish. Dues were collected at our June meeting. If you missed that, please bring your check: $15 for an individual or $30 for a family takes care of you through May of 2016.

Bull-A-Rama benefit set for Sept. 12
POLSON — A Bull-A-Rama benefit for Polson Police Officer William Cleveland is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Polson Fairgrounds. The performance begins at 6 p.m. and admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12- years old and younger. Pepsi and Providence St. Joseph Medical Center sponsored this event. The benefit will feature bull riders and mini bull riders. Pistol Creek Rodeo Company and Hendrickson Bucking Bulls will bring the stock, and cowboys will compete for a $4,000 added purse. Attendees can take part in a 50/50, silent auction, full concession stand and beer garden, with all proceeds going to Cleveland and his family.
Cleveland was diagnosed with cancer in his esophagus, lymph nodes in his back, lungs and liver and is undergoing chemotherapy.

POLSON — A Community Flea Market at Polson’s United Methodist Church begins at 9 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Coffee and rolls will be served from 9-11 a.m., corndogs, chips and a drink are available from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Food conscious folks need to arrive early for a chance at the bake sale items.
Household goods, furniture, crafts and other items highlight the sale inventory. The market is open until 4:30 p.m. at 301 Sixteenth Ave. E.

Fly-in begins with pancakes
POLSON – Chapter 1122 of the Experimental Aircraft Association will host the 17th annual Polson Fly-in at the Polson Airport on Saturday, Sept. 12, and admission is free. The public is invited to join pilots for an exciting day of aviation activities, beginning with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. Static displays, float planes, antique aircraft, experimental airplanes, and home-builds will be on display. Concessions and raffles will also be available.

Learn about herbs
POLSON – The Thyme for Herbs meeting is on Monday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library meeting room.
The topic will be: How to Combine Herbs for Optimal Effectiveness and the discussion will include: how to harvest and preserve herbs; harvesting seed; and when to use essential oils.
