RONAN — “Hunt for the Wilderpeople,” (a film from New Zealand about a child no one wants and his reluctant foster parent), will be shown on Oct. 22 at The Entertainer Cinema at 1 p.m. The discussion leader is Catherine Baylor.

Family Halloween fun on tap at Ronan Library
RONAN — The Ronan Library will close at noon on Thursday, Oct. 26, to get ready for the family Halloween party set for 4-6 p.m. at the library (changed from the Community Center). There will be a costume contest and lots of fun and games. Plan on being there.

Spooky, spookier haunted houses open
RONAN — The RHS Advanced Theatre Arts students are having a haunted house on Oct. 27 and Oct. 30 at the Ronan Performing Arts Center. There is a kid-friendly version from 6-7 p.m. and then a spookier version from 8-10 p.m. Admission is $3 per person.
Wear costume in ‘Light the Night’ run
RONAN — The third annual Light the Night suicide awareness run at the Ronan High School track is presented by the Your Life Matters Project. The event takes place from 6:30-10 p.m. An online registration link is on the Your Life Matters Project facebook page. This is a fun 5K and 1-mile run/ walk for suicide awareness and a family event for all ages and abilities. It is so close to Halloween that we love to do costumes so plan on dressing up and having some fun. This is a night time run with fun things along the course. Monster Prom, carnival planned
RONAN — Bring the family to a fun carnival on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 7-11 p.m. at 35982 Round Butte Road, (across from the VFW). The cost is $5 per person with family discounts available.

Movie ‘Where the Spirit Lives’ shown in Ronan
RONAN — On Oct. 29 the movie, “Where the Spirit Lives,” a film about a girl taken by force to a residential school in Canada, will be shown with George Price leading a discussion after the film. The film will air at the Entertainer Cinema at 1 p.m.
Protestant Reformation celebrated
RONAN — Faith Lutheran Church, led by Pastor Seth Nelson, will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation throughout the fall. Reformation Sunday is Oct. 29 and our service on that day will include a number of special guest musicians. Additionally, throughout the fall Pastor Seth is teaching a class entitled “Still Figuring It Out: A History of Reformation Movements.” The class focuses not only on Martin Luther and the Lutheran movement, but also many other Christian reformers through the centuries. The class will explore the legacies of Jan Huss to John Wesley, Anabaptists to modern day Mennonites, American Revivalism to modern day Evangelicalism, and much more.
