Fundraiser set for cancer patient
RONAN — An indoor yard sale fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Ronan Tribal Senior Citizen’s Center for Ronald “Ronn” Legislador. ‘On the Ice’ film takes place in remote Alaska
RONAN — The Indigenous Film Series continues on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. with the movie, “On the Ice,” about three boys who go on a seal hunt in a remote Alaskan village. Admission is free at the Entertainer Cinema, 410 Main Street, SW. Children under 13-years old must be accompanied by an adult. Donations are appreciated.

Prepare for the upcoming theatre season in Ronan
RONAN — First event of the season at Ronan Performing Arts Center 2016- 17 season will be “My Fair Limey,” presented by Ronan Middle School Theatre classes on Oct. 10-11. Tickets are $5 each; children under grade one are free. The play is a western spin-off of the classic “My Fair Lady.”

RONAN — Another film in the Indigenous Film Series takes place on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. “The Seventh Fire,” film is about a NA gang leader who, after being sent to prison, confronts the violence he’s brought to his people. Admission is free at the Entertainer Cinema, 410 Main Street, SW. Children under 13-years old must be accompanied by an adult. Donations are appreciated. CSKT Tribal Defender’s Office will lead a question and answer discussion after the film.

Local candidates to speak at forum
RONAN — A candidate forum will be held at the Performing Arts Center at Ronan Middle School, Monday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. Democrat and Republican candidates for local and state offices have been invited and will answer questions from the Ronan High School students and the audience. The Lake County Democrats and the Lake County Republican Women’s Club organized the forum. Everyone is invited to attend to learn the candidates’ positions on important issues, and to give support to the high school students who are taking an active role in the election process. Refreshments will be served.
