Back Country Horsemen to meet
RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their monthly meeting on March 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ronan VFW on Round Butte Road. The public is invited.
Tickets for our annual steak ride on May 3, at the Meuli Ranch in Dayton will be available at the March meeting also. So, come down and see what this great organization is all about.
Quilters to come together
RONAN — March 3 is the date for the Mission Mountain Quilt Guild’s next meeting, to be held at the Terrace Lake Community Church, in Ronan. Peg and Char will have a display of Pat Anderson’s quilting books set up for sale by 5:30 p.m. The regular meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a demo and show and tell. Please bring 4 fat quarters to donate for the quilt show fat-quarter basket. When you turn in your fat quarters, your name will be entered in a drawing. We will plan the April Potato Social at this meeting.

Quilting class offered
RONAN — March 7th is an Easy Peasy Bargello quilting class at the Ronan LDS Church from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Bring a sack lunch and have your strips cut before coming. Contact Kay Krantz if you need the requirements, she has sent them out. She will also have an additional segment on recycling sweaters into hats and mittens.
Everyone’s welcome; come and learn and laugh and enjoy.

Visit with Weaver at ‘Coffee with the Chief’
RONAN — Residents may join Ronan Police Chief Ken Weaver for “Coffee with the Chief” on Monday, March 9, at Ronan Café, 113 Main Street, from 9-10 a.m. This program provides residents with an opportunity to personally meet with their police chief in a friendly and informal setting. Residents will learn about the operations of the police department, discuss community matters of interest and get to know Police Chief Ken Weaver. “Coffee with the Chief” is part of the City of Ronan’s ongoing commitment to openness, responsiveness to the community and our efforts to enhance citywide communication.

Benefit dinner to help with medical expenses
RONAN — A benefit for Danell “Bumper” Thingelstad will take place on Saturday, March 14. Starting at 4 p.m. at the K. William Harvey gym there will be a Sloppy Joe dinner, a silent auction and a live auction. The drawing for the two raffles will also happen during this time. We are raffling off a Browning 22 rifle with 1,000 rounds and also have a three prize raffle with a Guy Rowbury print signed and framed, a quilt made by local quilters and 1/2 of a pig cut and wrapped as the prizes. Following there will be music, a 50/50 drawing, a white elephant event and a wine pull at 325 Bar to finish the night off.
Support fairgrounds, attend fashion show
RONAN — On Saturday, March 14, the Friends of Ronan Fairgrounds and Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply in Polson will present a “Color My World” fashion at Ninepipes Lodge. Tickets for the show and a buffet lunch are $25. Doors open and the lunch buffet is available starting at 11:30 a.m. with the show beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Murdoch’s in Polson, Access Montana in Ronan and Cenex and Valley Bank in St. Ignatius. This event is a fundraiser for the Lake County Fairgrounds in Ronan. RONAN — The 29th annual Ronan Women’s Club Craft Fair and Flea Market is set for Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center. Lunch includes fry bread, Indian tacos, soup and sandwiches. There will be a silent auction and over 40 vendors - woodworking, handmade crafts, jewelry, art, etc.

Women serve-up ‘Spring Fling Brunch’
RONAN — The annual Spring Fling Brunch hosted by Round Butte Woman’s Club will be held Sunday, March 15, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Jack’s sourdough pancakes will be served.The ladies will also serve biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit.
