Kindergarten Round Up holds pre-registration
RONAN — Mark your calendars for the Ronan School District #30 Kindergarten Round Up pre-registration. This registration is for the upcoming 2014/2015 school year and will be held at the Ronan Middle School on Thursday, April 24, from 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. To be eligible for kindergarten, a student must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 10, 2014. Parents must bring the birth certificate and immunization record for their child. Children, who will be registering, will be screened in hearing, speech, vision and school readiness skills. For your convenience, immunizations will be provided, as needed. Registration and screening should be completed in approximately one hour, so please plan accordingly.

RONAN — On Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Early Childhood Services will put on their ninth annual “Baby Fair.” Join the fun at the Ronan Event Center. Event to include: family resources; fitness activities; CPR & First Aid for Infants; Ronan Library Circle Time; family portraits; dental, OT, speech, and 0-3 month developmental screenings, a cake walk, a free lunch and much, much more, including door prizes galore. RONAN — The annual Ronan Volunteer Fire Department’s Breakfast will be held on both Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, at the Community Center in Ronan.

RONAN — K. William Harvey Elementary School in Ronan will hold their new kindergarten open house on Monday, April 28 from 6-7 p.m.

Eat pizza Fridays, support library
RONAN — Friday night is “Pizza Night” for the Ronan Library District at the Pizza Cafe in Ronan. Come have a great pizza and support the library at the same time. A portion of all pizza sales, for each Friday night in the month of May, will be donated to the Friends of the Ronan Library. Pizza Café is located at 62953 Highway 93 in Ronan.

A cappella group performance to benefit youth home
RONAN — Big Productions, a fundraising venture of the Cantlon Family Youth Home, (formerly the Lake County Youth Home), is going A cappella in May. The Montana A Cappella Society will perform a relaxing evening of music, featuring songs from the 1600s to modern classics. All music will be presented A Cappella. The artists will also showcase a special tribute to our Armed Forces.
The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at the Ronan Performing Arts Center.
The event is being co-sponsored by Bill Barron.
Annual Starving Artists’ Show arranged at Willard’s
RONAN — Willard’s will host the sixth annual Starving Artists’ Show on Saturday, May 3. The show and silent auction will start at noon, with an artists’ reception from 5-7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Ronan Senior Center. Help clean up Ronan
RONAN — On Saturday, May 3, the Community of Ronan and the Ronan Area Chamber will hold its annual Spring Cleaning Day. Meet at 9 a.m. at City Park to pick up garbage bags, gloves, donuts and a hot cup of coffee to get you going. There will be a construction-size box dumpster donated by Republic Services located at City Park near the Fire Hall, available for dropping off approved trash items and full trash bags.
Kicking Horse to hold 34th powwow
RONAN — The 34th annual Kicking Horse Job Corps Center Powwow will be held May 3 in at the campus’s gymnasium from 1-11 p.m. A free dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. There will be an all-ages Prairie Chicken contest for $50, $100, and $250, and a children’s carnival.
Pool Tournament to benefit SAFE Harbor
RONAN — The Spring Fling Pool Tournament benefiting SAFE Harbor will be held May 3 at the Club Bar in Ronan. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the tournament starts at 11 a.m. The Mission Valley Players Association sanctions this tournament. This will be a singles event. The entry fee is $20 and includes a taco bar and raffle prize tickets. The games will be 8-ball, ball in hand, blind draw, A & B handicap. Krones to talk about travels at Horsemen meeting
RONAN — The Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their May meeting on the evening of May 4, at the VFW Hall on Round Butte Rd, in Ronan at 7:30 p.m. Speakers for the evening will be Kent and Charlene Krone giving a talk on their travels around the country enjoying trail rides in various locals. High school transition meeting scheduled in Ronan
RONAN — Parents and guardians are invited to a high school transition meeting in the Performing Arts Center on Monday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. for all current Ronan eighth grade students. Middle school administration will discuss end of the current school year activities. The high school administration and high school counselor will then have an opportunity to discuss items your student will be dealing with during their high school years. It will also give you a chance to ask questions regarding any concerns or clarifications you may want.

RONAN — Lake County Community Development will host a Social Marketing Workshop on Tuesday, May 6, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at their Ronan office. Anyone seeking to implement, utilize and learn the importance of today’s Internet and technological advances will benefit from this workshop. Lunch is included. Quilters share full May meeting agenda
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold its regular meeting at the Terrace Lake Community Church, on May 6 at 6:30 pm. The theme for the quilt show this year is “Quilter’s Heart,” so be working on something to enter in the show. We will hold election of officers. Please bring your completed items for the Country Store, and your “Show ‘N Tell” items. Applique of the center blocks on the Quilt from the B.O.M.’s is in order. The Quilt Guild will also hold its annual “Brown Bag Auction” at the May meeting, so bring your UFO’s or some other quilt-related item in a brown bag with a little “ditty” on the outside as a clue. All will be auctioned off.
