2019 Farmers Markets

Lake County vendors invited to Bigfork through Oct. 9

BIGFORK — The Bigfork Farmers’ Market Cooperative will take place each Wednesday until October 9. The market takes place between 3-6 p.m. on the lawn at The Bigfork VFW, 8098 Highway 35. Ronan Farmers Market through September 26

RONAN — The 2019 Ronan Farmers Market will open on Thursday, May 16, at the Ronan Visitors’ Center. Hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursdays throughout the spring and summer until Sept. 26 (except for July 4). For more information, call 406-676-5901 or go to cryse. They are seeking produce and prepared food vendors. The Ronan Farmers Market offers fresh produce, cheeses, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods, and crafts from the Mission Valley.

Shop local at Polson's farmers market through Sept. 

POLSON — Starting on Friday, May 3, Polson Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Friday, rain or shine. The market is located at Third Ave. W. and will have homegrown produce and plants, coffee, jewelry, soaps, popsicles, baked goods, meats, eggs, cheese, preserved foods, fabric, photographic and handmade art, beauty products, wood working and much, much more. Class offers help for caregivers through June 7

Library begins monthly movie night

POLSON — Enjoy “Friday Night at the Library” on the fourth Friday of each month. North Lake County Library will show movies rated PG or PG-13 ( posted on our website) and make fresh popcorn. This program debuts Friday, Jan. 25. Be in the library before 6 p.m. to be included. Feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverage and snacks.

Move for better balance

RONAN — Tai Ji Quan is a moving-for-better-balance class and will be offered by a certified instructor at the MSU Lake County Extension on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. beginning May 13. This is an alternative exercise training program for improving balance and preventing falls. There is no cost. Please wear good shoes and clothes you can move in and bring water. POLSON — The spring session of “Moving for Better Balance,” an adapted Tai Chi program, will begin on Tuesday, April 9. MSU alumni play golf

MSU alumni play golf POLSON — Polson Bay Golf Club will host the MSU golf scramble on July 27. The format will be similar to last year’s event. The scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. followed by a social hour and barbecue. The entry fee is $500 per team. All proceeds benefit the MSU Bobcat Athletic Scholarship Fund. Celebrate ‘Race Unity Day’ in Ronan


RONAN — “Race Unity Day” has been celebrated on the second Sunday of June since 1957. So once again, we, the Bahá’ís of the Flathead Indian Reservation, invite you to join us for this celebration. RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 11, a week later, at the Terrace Lake Community Church at 6:30 p.m. Plans for the quilt show will be finalized and the next class coming up in September will be discussed. RONAN — Come to the Ronan Library at 10 a.m. to see Skeeter the clown from the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus. Skeeter will make balloon items and teach you some clowning secrets. From 11 a.m.-2 p.m. you can craft a gift for Father’s Day. Stop by and make a special gift for someone who could use a smile. Registration for the first day of the “Universe of Stories” summer reading program will take place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Register and receive a reading log to keep track of your reading and win cool prizes too.

‘Chainsaw Carving Rendezvous’ held

RONAN — From Thursday, June 20, until Sunday, June 23, a “Chainsaw Carving Rendezvous” will be held at the Lake County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. The event includes a Dutch oven class at 11 a.m.; the Cheff Ranch Legacy Outfitters from 2-6 p.m.; a carving seminar starts at 6 p.m.; the Farmers Market will be open from 4-7 p.m. and a carving auction will take place at 7 p.m. Watch all the action and see some amazing works of art by chainsaw carvers from across the U.S. Craft and food vendors, a beer garden, lumberjack log milling, and the CSKT Forestry and Fire Departments will also be on site. Busy Ronan organizes many activities


RONAN — Ronan Fairgrounds will host several all-day activities: a beer garden will open at 9 a.m.; chain-saw carving will go on all day from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; a saw mill demo takes place at 2 p.m. along with the Cheff Ranch Legacy Outfitters from 2-6 p.m.; another carving auction will take place at 7 p.m. to be followed by a 325 Street Dance beginning at 9 p.m.

Eat all the crab you can


RONAN — On Friday, June 21, the Ronan Area Chamber of Commerce will present “Crab Fest 2019,” which is a benefit for the Bockman (Ronan City) Park. The dinner begins at 5 p.m. and will take place at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $35 per person or two for $60 for the all-you-can-eat event. Purchase tickets at Ronan Flower Mill, Valley Banks, Ronan Napa, Glacier Bank, First Interstate Bank-Polson, Access Montana and Ronan Power Products. Enjoy fresh crab boiled on site. PEO rummage sale benefits scholarships


RONAN — The Lower Mission Valley Chapter of PEO will hold their annual rummage sale on June 21, on the west side of Ronan Glacier Bank, across from the city park. It will be open from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Clothing, household goods, accessories, books, games and miscellaneous items will be available for sale. All proceeds from the sale will be used for PEO sponsored scholarships for women.

RONAN — Safe Harbor will present a “Circus and Carnival” on Saturday, June 22. Shows are at 2 and 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children. The free-admission carnival will take place from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Game tickets will be 50 cents each.

RONAN — Crazy Days continues as local merchants put on spectacular sales on Saturday, June 22. VFW serves-up breakfast RONAN — Beginning at 7 a.m., the local VFW will serve breakfast. Watch amazing woodcarving RONAN — The Ronan Fairgrounds will host wood carving from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. including a saw mill demo at 2 p.m.; a carving seminar at 6 p.m.; a carving auction at 7 p.m. The evening ends with a luminary parade at dark and a 325 Bar street dance at 9 p.m.
