Concert performed at fairgrounds’ courtyard
RONAN — The Lake County Fair will hold a concert with “Mega Karma” from 5-7 p.m. at the main courtyard stage at the fairgrounds. This is a family-friendly event and free of charge. In addition, a market livestock auction will take place at 7 p.m.

Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs announce summer program through Aug. 22
POLSON/RONAN — The summer program start date for both the Polson and Ronan Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs is Monday, June 16. Both clubs will end their summer programs on Friday, Aug. 22. Pioneer Days promises full agenda
RONAN —Ronan Pioneer Days is a community event with fun for the whole family. The Mission Mountain Classic Run, 3-on-3-basketball and volleyball tournaments are some of the athletic events planned. Check out the stock car racing and the demolition derby. Three open rodeos with a wild cow race and a wild buffalo ride. Don’t miss the big parade and kid’s parade. Events get underway Friday at 10 a.m. with the Quilt Show at K. W. Harvey Elementary Gym. The Bulls and Boncs Rodeo is at 7 p.m. and the KD’s Valley Club street dance is at 9 p.m. On Saturday, at 3 p.m., there will be a barbecue cook-off complete with judging. Ronan hosts ‘Lake County’s Got Talent’
RONAN — On Friday evening at the main courtyard at the fairgrounds, there will be a talent show entitled, “Lake County’s Got Talent.” There will be two divisions: 4-H and open class. The show takes place from 5-7 p.m.
Ronan Schools to offer kids meals through Aug.15
RONAN — From June 9-Aug. 15, all children 18 years of age and under will be served breakfast and lunch at no cost to their families. Meals will be served at the Ronan Middle School Commons from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. for breakfast and from 11:30 a.m.-12:55 p.m. for lunch. RSD No. 30 is considered an “open site” and may feed at no cost any and all children who wish to participate. Children are not required to live in the district.
All adults must pay cash for meals at the time of service at a rate of $4 for lunch and $2.50 for breakfast.

Car show on tap in Ronan
RONAN — There will be a free car show, open to the public, on Aug. 2 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Community Bank’s parking lot. People can register on sight or contact Brady or Amy Sevier at (406) 676-3961. The show will be located in Ronan at Community Bank
Fair to judge smoked meat contest
RONAN — The Lake County Fair will hold the judging for the Boys’ and Girls’ Club “Smoke Off” from 5-7 p.m. This is a meat-smoking contest and should be lots of fun. This is a family-friendly event and free of charge.
Free flights offered to youth
RONAN — EAA chapter 1122 will fly Young Eagles at the Polson airport on Saturday, Aug. 2, starting at 9 a.m. These free flights are offered to young people, ages 8-17, and made possible by EAA member volunteers. Go to the Polson airport Saturday morning for an opportunity to learn more about airplanes and go flying. VFW to serve breakfast
RONAN — The Ronan VFW, 35981 Round Butte Road, will serve breakfast from 7 a.m.-noon the first Saturday of every month. Prices are $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Everyone is welcome. Profits help with VFW expenses and running the car show in Ronan.

RONAN — The Rocky Mountain Breeders Association Round Pen Shoot Out is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 8, and Saturday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. Calcutta is at 7 p.m. Friday night. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. both nights. The Colt Starting Challenge competition is between three horse trainers.

Grand Finale Picnic held for Summer Reading Program
RONAN - The Ronan Library District will host a Grand Finale Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 9, for the Family Summer Reading Program at Bockman Park. Gather at noon at the large pavilion off Eisenhower Street. Activities include raffle drawings for reading prizes and a bulk distribution for community members.
