Neal Lewing to host Gary Cooper event
POLSON – North Lake County Public Library in Polson will host the Montana Conversations program “Gary Cooper: First, Last and Always” presented by Neal Lewing on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. The presentation is free and open to the public. Free Gary Cooper movies will also be shown in the library meeting room on Wednesday, Feb. 1 and Thursday, Feb. 2. RONAN — A “Winter Book Chat,” sponsored by Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Ronan Public Library, 203 Main Street. Dave Kaufmann, former Charlo history teacher, will host the chat about the book “Tough Trip Through Paradise,” by Andrew Garcia, a packer and mountain man. Forester to speak at Pachyderm Club meeting
POLSON — Jim Simpson, chairman of the Lake County Conservation District and retired forester, will be the featured speaker at the Friday, Feb. 10, meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. He will describe the proposed establishment of a 60,000-acre Conservation Forest on U.S. Forest Service land in the Swan Valley, all within the boundaries of the LCCD and Lake County. The meeting begins at noon, adjourns at 1 p.m., and is held in the Rural Polson Fire Department Building, 25 Regatta Road, Polson. The meeting is open to the public.
