Herb group to meet at library
POLSON – Thyme for Herbs meeting takes place on Monday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library meeting room.

RONAN — On Sunday, Oct. 18, FRHRC brings a free showing of “Shouting Secrets” to the Entertainer Cinema. This is a film about a Native American man who left his family and his reservation, not planning to return, but who is pulled back to face what he left behind. Chaske Spencer, famous for his role in the Twilight films and “Winter in the Blood” stars in this movie. Spencer will introduce the film and lead a discussion after the screening.

POLSON — A free community dinner will be served on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E. The menu includes a harvest chicken dinner with all the trimmings. This is our final dinner for the season. All are welcome.
Harvest Dinner date set
POLSON — The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will hold its 45th annual Harvest Dinner of Swedish meatballs, potatoes, gravy, lefse, salad and dessert from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, in the church fellowship hall. The cost for the dinner is $10 per adult, $4 per child under 10 years. Fair Trade coffee will also be available for purchase. Dinner proceeds will benefit the local Cheerful Heart organization and Little Friends Preschool.

Film documents dam acquisition
RONAN — The final film in the Indigenous Film series, “The Place of the Falling Waters,” by locals Thompson Smith and Roy Bigcrane, will be shown at the Entertainer Cinema at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. This documentary details the history and acquisition of the former Kerr Dam (now the Salish Kootenai Dam) from the perspective of the Salish and Kootenai people. The creators will lead a discussion of the film.
Learn new swim strokes at MVA clinic
POLSON — Join the Montana Masters Swim Clinic and swim with Montana Masters at Mission Valley Aquatics on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. -noon. All levels are welcome. The cost is $25, but if you’re a USMS member, it’s free. This two-hour clinic will cover all four strokes as well as starts and turns (time permitting). All levels of skill and ability are welcome. With a variety of coaches on deck, all with different experiences, you will come away from the clinic with some new ideas and drills to help you on your quest to swimming greatness.
