Class offers help for caregivers through June 7

POLSON — Are you caring for a loved one? Providence St. Joseph Medical Center is hosting the Area VI Agency on Aging’s six-week series of classes designed to help caregivers with the many physical and emotional challenges they face. Library begins monthly movie night

POLSON — Enjoy “Friday Night at the Library” on the fourth Friday of each month. North Lake County Library will show movies rated PG or PG-13 ( posted on our website) and make fresh popcorn. This program debuts Friday, Jan. 25. Be in the library before 6 p.m. to be included. Feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverage and snacks.

Men’s Friday afternoon cancer club through May 24

POLSON — If you are a man with any cancer diagnosis this group is for you. Join others for six meetings to discuss the issues men with cancer are facing Friday afternoons from 5:15-6:30 p.m. at the Bickford Building (upstairs). This group is free of charge. Coy Theobalt has been facilitating groups for men with cancer for more than 18 years. Call 406-578- 8078 to reserve a seat.

Move for better balance through June

POLSON — The spring session of “Moving for Better Balance,” an adapted Tai Chi program, will begin on Tuesday, April 9. It will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. at the Polson Senior Center. The class will run until the end of June. Call Jane at the Agency on Aging to sign up 406-883-7284.

New Wednesday after-school library program explores the world

POLSON — “Wiggle Worms,” a new after-school program at North Lake County Library takes place on Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. Join us in the after-school hour for stories, activities, and crafts designed to boost a love of learning. While optimized for kids four and up, all ages are welcome to join us as we explore a new part of the world each week.

Recovery support available

RONAN —Recovery support is available for those struggling with addiction at The Never Alone Recovery Hall (Hwy. 93, old Boys and Girls Club), every day of the week. The Never Alone Recovery Hall is a peer support dropin center. We are simply recovering people offering our experience, strength, and hope to our community members who are struggling with addiction issues. All groups and services are free. Please feel welcome to drop in and check us out.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays a noon meditation group is held and from 1-5 p.m. individual peer support is available.

Mondays a women’s support group takes place from 6-8 p.m.

Tuesdays there are recovery stories and videos heard from 6-8 p.m.

Wednesdays Narcotics Anonymous meets from 6-8 p.m.

Thursdays an early recovery skills groups meets from 6-8 p.m.

Fridays from 8-9 p.m. The Red Road to Recovery group meets.

Saturdays a co-dependent support group meets at 5 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. special events take place (events change).

Family movie night happens from 6-8 p.m. on Sundays.

Ronan Farmers Market through September

RONAN — The 2019 Ronan Farmers Market will open on Thursday, May 16, at the Ronan Visitors’ Center. The market is located at Third Ave. W. and will have homegrown produce and plants, coffee, jewelry, soaps, popsicles, baked goods, meats, eggs, cheese, preserved foods, fabric, photographic and handmade art, beauty products, wood working and much, much more. Learn to knit at Polson library through Oct. 30

POLSON — For four Tuesdays in October (9, 16, 23, and 30), North Lake County Public Library is offering four learn-to-knit sessions at 2 p.m. in the library atrium. Library volunteer and “Knitter-Extraordinaire,” Linda Kittle will be available to guide you and answer questions in the process as new knitters learn the beginning steps of casting on, garter and purl stitch, increasing and decreasing and binding off. Needles and yarn for practice will be available. The teapot will be on. Guys and gals, young and old, you can do this.

Fall Fest, 3K held at Flathead Lake State Park

BIGFORK — Montana State Parks will host the inaugural Fall Fest at Flathead Lake State Park – Wayfarers Unit on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 11 am.-2 p.m. Join us for the first Fall Fest. There will be a 3K Fun Run around the park, followed by a costume contest for kids, dogs, and adults. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and bring leashed dogs on the run.
