Halloween rummage sale to support prom
RONAN — A Halloween costume rummage sale will take place on Friday, Oct. 23, from 3:30-6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The proceeds will go to the junior class for this year’s prom. Community harvest party
RONAN - Glacier View School would like to thank the community for coming out to support their corn maze this year! We are holding a free community harvest party. There will be chili, soups and bread for dinner. Fishing booths, bean bag toss, prizes, hayrides, night corn maze, desert walk, hot drinks and more! Come out and have some fun with the whole family! Haunted House held
ST. IGNATIUS — A Haunted House will be held at the Asays’, 62406 Highway 93, as a fundraiser to assist Macao’s entry fee to play “Avalanch Softball.” Times are: Saturday, Oct. 24, from 7-9 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 25, from 7-9 p.m.; and Friday, Oct. 30, from 7-9 p.m. Admission is $4 per person. Join the fun at Firefighters Appreciation Bash
POLSON — The Firefighter’s Appreciation “Halloween Bash” will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 5-11 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. There will be a chili feast, live music and DJ, dancing, a 50/50 drawing, a costume contest and a silent and a live auction. The entry fee is $10. Film documents dam acquisition
RONAN — The final film in the Indigenous Film series, “The Place of the Falling Waters,” by locals Thompson Smith and Roy Bigcrane, will be shown at the Entertainer Cinema at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. This documentary details the history and acquisition of the former Kerr Dam (now the Salish Kootenai Dam) from the perspective of the Salish and Kootenai people. The creators will lead a discussion of the film.
Learn new swim strokes at MVA clinic
POLSON — Join the Montana Masters Swim Clinic and swim with Montana Masters at Mission Valley Aquatics on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. -noon. All levels are welcome. The cost is $25, but if you’re a USMS member, it’s free. This two-hour clinic will cover all four strokes as well as starts and turns (time permitting). All levels of skill and ability are welcome. With a variety of coaches on deck, all with different experiences, you will come away from the clinic with some new ideas and drills to help you on your quest to swimming greatness.
Super heroes to walk, run in Ronan
RONAN — Mission Valley kids are invited to Ronan Mission Mountain Golf Course on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. to participate in a 1-mile walk/5K-run.

Immunization clinic held at PHS
POLSON — Lake County Health Department is offering an immunization clinic on Monday, Oct. 26, at Polson High School auditorium during first and second periods. Parents or guardians that complete the proper forms and return them with payment or insurance verification can have their child receive the first varicella immunization on Oct. 26. NAMI presents second film in series
POLSON — On Tuesday, Oct. 27, the National Alliance on Mental Illness will present the movie, “The King’s Speech” in the North Lake County Public Library meeting room at 6:30 p.m. A discussion will be led by Julie Fleck, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Sonya Milheim, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. This is part of a film/discussion series called “Minds Matter” presented during the month of October. Refreshments will be served. All events are free and open to the public.

‘Driven to Abstraction’ begins now through Nov. 14
POLSON — On Oct. 5 Sandpiper Art Gallery starts a new month-long show in memory of John Davis entitled “Driven to Abstraction.”
This non-juried show is open to all artists. Artistic interpretation of the theme, in any medium, will be accepted. Miracle of America Museum have 4 or 5 metal sculptures there, one of which is very emotionally charged about drunk driving. The show runs from Oct. 5-Nov. 14.

RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will have its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Terrace Lake Community Church. Methodist Church holds bazaar, luncheon
POLSON — The annual Fall Bazaar and Luncheon at the First United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E, is on Friday, Nov. 6.
Art, homemade crafts and baked goods will be sold from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Soup and sandwiches, topped off with an apple dumpling and ice cream, will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Proceeds will be used for local and church-wide mission outreach.
Powwow honors veterans, families
