‘Driven to Abstraction’ begins now through Nov. 14
POLSON — On Oct. 5 Sandpiper Art Gallery starts a new month-long show in memory of John Davis entitled “Driven to Abstraction.”
This non-juried show is open to all artists. Artistic interpretation of the theme, in any medium, will be accepted. Miracle of America Museum have 4 or 5 metal sculptures there, one of which is very emotionally charged about drunk driving. The show runs from Oct. 5-Nov. 14.
Free dinner served at Presbyterian Church
POLSON — The November Friendship Table Dinner is on Friday, Nov. 13, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Polson Presbyterian Church, located across from the Linderman School. Come join us. This dinner is free and open to all.
Round dance, dinner event celebrates veterans
PABLO — A Veterans’ Round Dance will take place on Friday, Nov. 13, in the SKC Camas Room of the Joe McDonald Health and Wellness Center. This event will begin with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. and then a dinner.

Bazaar proceeds go to food banks
POLSON — The fourth annual “Hunter Widows' Holiday Bazaar’ will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Elks Lodge, 512 Main Street, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Get an early start on all of your holiday shopping needs. All kinds of vendors showcasing their items will be in one convenient location. Admission is free but nonperishable food donations will be collected. Dinner to feature worldwide cuisines
RONAN – Faith Lutheran Church in Ronan will host a multi-cultural dinner called A Feast for the Nations on Sunday, Nov. 15, at noon. The dinner will feature cuisines from nations around the world including Norway, Mexico, Germany, India, Denmark and several others, as well as art and other items from countries all around the globe. The meal is free and all are welcome.
Indian Choir invited to service
PABLO — On Sunday, Nov. 15, the Church of the Nazareth is hosting the Northwest Indian Bible School Choir during our 11 a.m. service. A love offering will be taken to assist in the choir’s cost.

POLSON — On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Lake County Health Department’s Parents as Teachers program’s Community Connection for November will focus on “Turkey Fun” with an art activity and snacks. This community event will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Public Health Department’s conference room, 801 Main Street. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend this free program. CSKT hosts training about children
PABLO – A presentation hosted by CSKT Social Service Department’s Trauma Informed Substance Abuse Program will be given at the Salish Kootenai Housing Authority Building, Pablo Conference Room, on Tuesday-Thursday, Nov. 17-19. This training, “Drug Endangered Children, Phases I, II & III, Developing an Alliance” is free for the public and takes place each day from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Pastor to address Neighborhood Watch
ST. IGNATIUS — Pastor Bob Larssen will talk about the Pinehaven Christian Children’s Ranch at a meeting of the St. Ignatius Neighborhood Watch on Tuesday, Nov. 17. He will explain what the ranch is, how it operates and the goals its staff and students hope to attain. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate at all of the St. Ignatius chapter’s meetings.
Play to feature pirates
RONAN — Be prepared for lots of fun as the Ronan Middle School Drama Department presents a performance of the play, “Blackboot’s Lost Loot” at the Ronan Performing Arts Center on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
The performance includes lots of pirates, lost treasure, dancing, and ducks. General admission tickets are $5 and will only be sold at the door the evening of the play.

Democrats to discuss 2016 election

FBC to meet in Pablo
POLSON — Members of the Flathead Basin Commission will meet on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m.-3:45 p.m. at Lake County Environmental Health building, 106 Fourth Ave. E. The meeting will focus on FBC specific issues, including but not limited to: FBC administration and funding; and pending FBC Action Plan for 2016-2020. Two afternoon presentations are also planned.
