Soil health workshop scheduled
MISSOULA — Producers and soil health experts will discuss different facets of soil health at a workshop sponsored by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Montana chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society on Monday, Nov. 3. The workshop will be in Missoula at the Montana Ruby’s Inn and Convention Center, 4825 North Reserve Street, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. The cost is $15 and includes lunch. Pasty lunch on Election Day
POLSON — On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, the Polson Presbyterian Church, across from Linderman School at 301 4th Ave. E., is holding a pasty lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The lunch includes a homemade pasty with gravy, salad, vegetable, cake and beverage and costs $6 for adults and $3 for children. All of the proceeds go to missions and outreach. Please vote, and then have a wonderful pasty lunch at the Polson Presbyterian Church.
Reporter to share rendezvous experience
RONAN — The Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will host a Humanities Montana Speakers Bureau program titled, “A Ride Back Through the Time to the Rendezvous Era” with Perri Knize on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the VFW Clubhouse, 521 Round Butte Road. In 2012, on assignment for National Geographic, Helena-based reporter Knize joined historians on horseback and covered a month-long Rendezvous. She will share her experience through images and video. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. and is open and free to the public.

Express concerns to newly elected legislators
POLSON — The public is invited to a post-election panel with the newly elected Lake County delegation to the legislature on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the North County Public Library meeting room. This is an opportunity for citizens to communicate their concerns, prior to the January session of the Montana legislature, to the two newly elected Senators and three representatives from Lake County. Moderator of the panel is County Commissioner Bill Barron. Once senators and representatives are elected, they represent all of us regardless of Party. This meeting is sponsored by the Lake County Republicans.

Bazaar to include apple dumplings
POLSON — First United Methodist Church of Polson will hold their annual fall bazaar and luncheon on Friday, Nov. 7. The ever-popular apple dumpling is again the menu highlight. Soup and sandwiches topped off with a dumpling and ice cream are served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Art, homemade crafts and bake goods are sold from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

RONAN - The Ronan Woman's Club will host a baked potato dinner to raise fund to purchase Home Heart Monitors for the International Heart Institute at St. Patrick's Hospital. Books sold at Linderman Library
POLSON — The Linderman School Library will be holding their annual Scholastic Book Fair in the Linderman Library on Nov. 11 from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Nov. 12 from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Nov. 13 from 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. The book fair is a fundraiser for the library to purchase more books plus it is a great opportunity for parents to do a little Christmas shopping and for kids to pick up some of the newest books on the market in children’s literature.

Legion dinner proceeds help Arlee students
ARLEE — The annual American Legion Veterans’ Day spaghetti dinner will be held at the Tribal Senior Center in Arlee on Nov. 11, from 5-9 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $8 per person or $5 per child 10 and under, and $18 for a family of four. Humanities speaker scheduled at church
CHARLO — The Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition will host Humanities Montana Speakers Bureau program: “Very White? A Conversation About White Racial Identity in Montana,” with Tobin Miller Shearer on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
The program will be at Mission Valley United Methodist Church, 70715 Hwy 93, top of Post Creek Hill, with a potluck at 6 p.m. and conversation at 7 p.m. The presentation is free and open to the public. PAT group provides information
ARLEE — The Parents as Teachers program of the Lake County Public Health Department is sponsoring a Playgroup at the Hangin’ Art Gallery in Arlee on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 10-11:30 a.m. Pregnant and parenting moms and their children who under 5 years old are invited to learn more about the PAT program. Dads can come, as well.
There will be activities, information and yummy food. The PAT program is a free, voluntary program that provides twice monthly home visits with age-appropriate activities for children from birth to age five, developmental screenings, and information and referrals to area resources. POLSON — The third annual Hunter’s Widow Holiday Bazaar will take place on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Elks Lodge, 512 Main Street, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Get an early start on all of your shopping needs! All kinds of vendors will showcase their items in one convenient location. Admission is free but nonperishable food donations will be collected.
All money raised from vendor table fees and food donations will be divided and go to the Ronan Bread Basket and Polson Loaves and Fishes Pantry.
