Church screens movie on middle class
POLSON — The critically acclaimed film “Inequality for All” will be screened at Journey Be on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. The movie discusses the causes of the disappearance of the middle class. All invited to ‘Spiritual Practices’ course
RONAN – Pastor Seth Nelson will be leading a course entitled “Spiritual Practices in the Church and in the World” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17. The course will focus on spiritual disciplines that many find helpful in their faith journeys including disciplines like devotional Bible reading, recitation of the Jesus Prayer, how to make and use prayer beads, and more. All are welcome to join us in the basement of Faith Lutheran Church in Ronan as we explore different spiritual practices together.
Career Fair set at SKC
PABLO — The 2015 SKC Career Fair will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Job seekers should attend to gain insight into what employment opportunities exist and to add to their professional network. Employers should attend because it is an effective and inexpensive way to meet, network with, and interview prospective employees. A workshop will also be held on the same day titled, “Social Media - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.” Join us in the Johnny Arlee Victor Charlo Theatre for an exciting presentation related to social media in the workplace. On Tuesday, Feb. 17, Introduction to the Internet will be taught from 11 a.m.-noon and from 2-3 p.m. This is a session for those with little or no experience using the Web.
The class will teach terminology, how to navigate the Web effectively, internet safety, and other beginning skills.

Hear about mental health issues
POLSON — The guest speaker for the Lake County Democrats meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 18, will be Megan Bailey, from Sunburst Mental Health Services. Megan will discuss the services available in Lake County, the challenges and successes of program efforts and the current legislative issues. The meeting will be held at the North Lake Public Library in Polson. A social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with the program starting at 7 p.m. The public is invited.
Hunter education classes to begin
RONAN — Hunter Education Classes will be held at Westland Seed in Ronan from 4-6 p.m. on Feb. 18, 19, 20, and 23. The field course is held Saturday, Feb. 21. An additional class will be held for the area in March.
All hunter education classes are free of charge. By state law, anyone born after Jan. 1, 1985, must have completed the Hunter Education Course to buy a hunting license in Montana. To attend class and become certified, students must be at least 11 years old.
All students must register online at fwp.mt.gov, click “education,” for courses. When registering, students will note specific information and guidelines for the course included in the online posting.

SPLASH at new health facility
POLSON — Every month the Polson Chamber invites its members and members of the public to join them during the monthly Support Polson Late Afternoon Social Hour (SPLASH). SPLASH on Thursday, Feb. 19, will be hosted by Polson Health at 106 Ridgewater Drive, from 5-7 p.m.
The February event will include a ribbon cutting for this new facility, a department of Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Polson Health provides primary care and chiropractic care along with a wide range of visiting specialists.

Join in fundraising for Journey Be
POLSON — The fifth annual Winter Fest is on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Polson Elks Club Ballroom at 5 p.m. Admission is $10, which includes Montana Backyard Barbeque. Children under 12 years old are free.
The band Blue Smoke will follow a live auction. There will also be a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing and a basket raffle. Donation auction items are appreciated. This is a fundraiser for Journey Be, a nonprofit organization addressing hunger and homelessness. Veterans’ needs shared at meeting

‘Shokoto’ to perform

The business meeting begins at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m.

Meet with legislators

This is an opportunity to meet them face-to-face, hear their report on key issues in the Montana Legislature, and share personal concerns on issues important to Lake County.

MVCA to hold auctions, dinner
POLSON — Mission Valley Christian Academy’s “Staying Alive” disco-themed auction fundraiser and dinner celebration is scheduled for Feb. 28. School supporters and community partners will share their talents and services in celebration of Christian education and for financial support.
