Library invites you to foster books through Feb. 28
RONAN — The Ronan Library has handpicked some new, high-quality books for children and young adults. You can “foster” one or more of these books this month by purchasing them any time in February. Celebrate, attend open house
RONAN — On Feb. 24 a special “Foster-a-Book Open House” will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Ronan Library. This event, sponsored by the Friends of the Ronan Library, will serve refreshments and the books waiting to be fostered will be on display. There will also be other great books from Usborne Books available for purchase for personal use.

‘Shokoto’ to perform
RONAN — Big Productions will present “Shokoto” on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at Ronan Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $12 in advance or $14 at the door. Children age 18 and younger are admitted free. A paying adult must accompany children under 12 years old. This show replaces the previously scheduled “CanadAfrica” show. All welcome to Suicide Prevention workshop
POLSON — Partners in Suicide Prevention, part of CSKT TSSD Circle of Trust, will welcome trainer Gary Neumann on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Gary will present “Developing a Community Response Plan,” a free presentation from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on the third floor of the THHS building. Lunch will be provided.
Aviators to gather at library
POLSON — Chapter 1122 of the EAA will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Polson Library. All aviation enthusiasts are welcome to join us. Our program this month is on “Flying to Air Adventure - The Oshkosh Air Show.”
Dance on the 25th
POLSON — Heart to Heart will play at the Wednesday night dance at the Elks from 7-10 p.m. They play rock and roll and many old favorites. Come and join the fun and don’t forget to bring a treat to share.

Fish, Wildlife board to meet
KALISPELL — The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Headquarters, 490 N. Meridian Rd. On the agenda are enforcement reports from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, the State of Montana, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Public comment begins at 12:15 p.m. Board Chairman Michael Jamison invites all interested persons to attend.

POLSON — Free technology classes are being offered at North Lake County Public Library in Polson during the month of February. Space is limited, so please call the library at (406) 883-8225 to register.
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, Facebook Basics will be taught from 3-4 p.m. Facebook Basics is an introductory class in which students will learn about creating a Facebook account, setting up privacy settings, messaging, finding your friends, navigating and posting to your timeline, and uploading pictures.

Free dinner planned in Polson
POLSON — A free community dinner will be served on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E. Menu for the evening includes casseroles, salads, and desserts. All are welcome.

Maddy to speak at Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — Anyone interested in learning about developments up on the Ridgewater properties is invited to attend the meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club on Friday, Feb. 27, at the Polson Rural Fire Department Building on Regatta Road near the Polson fairgrounds. The business meeting begins at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m.
Mike Maddy, owner of the Ridgewater site, and Dennis Duty, a realtor involved with day to day operations, will share news of the hotel under construction, new restaurants, Kalispell Regional Hospital’s clinic, retail stores, and offices that are making Ridgewater the fastest growing area in Polson.
Social time begins at 11:30 a.m., and brown bag lunches are encouraged. Anyone interested in topics and issues pertinent to our community are cordially invited to attend.
Meet with legislators
POLSON — All interested citizens are invited to meet with Lake County legislators in Polson on Friday, Feb. 27, from 7-9 p.m. in the Community Room of the North Lake County Library, 2 First Ave. E.
Senator Janna Taylor, Representative Greg Hertz and Representative Dan Salomon will be home for spring break from the Montana legislative session. This is an opportunity to meet them face-to-face, hear their report on key issues in the Montana Legislature, and share personal concerns on issues important to Lake County.
Lake County Republican Women will provide coffee and cookies. Everyone is welcome.
Potluck, presentation planned in Big Arm
BIG ARM – The Big Arm Association will host the February potluck/presentation on Friday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. at our historic Big Arm School. We will be sharing all the delicious dishes that people will bring to share with neighbors and friends. Hospital teaches CPR classes

MVCA to hold auctions, dinner
POLSON — Mission Valley Christian Academy’s “Staying Alive” disco-themed auction fundraiser and dinner celebration is scheduled for Feb. 28. School supporters and community partners will share their talents and services in celebration of Christian education and for financial support.
This year’s event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the school, located 2 miles east on Hwy 35. Both a live and silent auction will take place and special baskets will also be auctioned. Build birdhouses at Pursuit’s family night
ST. IGNATIUS — On Sunday, March 1, Pursuit’s family night is focused on the theme “What a Little Birdie Told Me.” Supper is at 6 p.m. of hot dogs and coleslaw. Supper is followed by an interactive night of assembling birdhouses. The wood parts are already cutout so you can simply screw them together. A local bluebird expert will speak. This would be a great night out for the family.

Stations of the Cross done Lutheran Style through March 25
POLSON — Lenten soup suppers and worship services will be held each Wednesday, Feb. 18-March 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Suppers are at 5:30 p.m., followed by worship services at 6:30 p.m.
“Stations of the Cross Lutheran Style,” will begin in Bethlehem, go to Nazareth and Capernaum, to the Upper Room and the Garden of Gethsemane, the Antonia Fortress and Palace of Caiaphas, ending on Good Friday at Golgotha. We will consider these “stations,” sing hymns and pray. Good Shepherd is located at 409 Fourth Ave., E in Polson. Quilters to come together
RONAN — March 3 is the date for the Mission Mountain Quilt Guild’s next meeting, to be held at the Terrace Lake Community Church, in Ronan. Peg and Char will have a display of Pat Anderson’s quilting books set up for sale by 5:30 p.m. The regular meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a demo and show and tell. Please bring 4 fat quarters to donate for the quilt show fat-quarter basket. When you turn in your fat quarters, your name will be entered in a drawing. We will plan the April Potato Social at this meeting.

Mariners to hold signups
POLSON — The Mission Valley Mariners Legion Baseball will have a team signups on Wednesday, March 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Polson High School auditorium. All new and returning players will receive the player packets, which include all team related information, signup forms and American Legion Baseball requirements and the Mariner team costs. Baseball players from any of the Reservation communities are encouraged participate. School to fundraise for all-school reunion
PABLO — Two Eagle River School will hold their monthly Family Dinner on March 4 at 5:30 p.m. followed by a fundraiser for the 40-year celebration/reunion. The silent auction will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. with bingo starting at 6 p.m. The 40-year celebration will be held on April 30-May 2. Two Eagle River School invites the 596 graduates, past staff and students to attend this all-school reunion for a memorable time.
Veteran presentations at library
POLSON – Local veterans will offer a free public presentation at North Lake County Public Library in Polson on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 p.m. The program will focus on the highly acclaimed book “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien. Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be served. The key speaker will be Sgt. Chuck Lewis, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran from Ronan.

Elks' crab crack to raise funds for roof
POLSON — The annual Crab Crack at the Polson Elks club will be held Saturday, March 7. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. All you can eat crab festival; steak option is available for those who prefer beef. Tickets are $35 and available at the Polson Elks Lodge, seating is limited so don’t wait. Open to the public. This event is a fundraiser for the Elks. They are hoping to raise funds for a much needed new roof.
Quilting class offered
RONAN — March 7th is an Easy Peasy Bargello quilting class at the Ronan LDS Church from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Bring a sack lunch and have your strips cut before coming. Contact Kay Krantz if you need the requirements, she has sent them out. She will also have an additional segment on recycling sweaters into hats and mittens.

Visit with Weaver at ‘Coffee with the Chief’
RONAN — Residents may join Ronan Police Chief Ken Weaver for “Coffee with the Chief” on Monday, March 9, at Ronan Café, 113 Main Street, from 9-10 a.m. This program provides residents with an opportunity to personally meet with their police chief in a friendly and informal setting. Residents will learn about the operations of the police department, discuss community matters of interest and get to know Police Chief Ken Weaver. “Coffee with the Chief” is part of the City of Ronan’s ongoing commitment to openness, responsiveness to the community and our efforts to enhance citywide communication.
