Stations of the Cross done Lutheran Style through March 25
POLSON — Lenten soup suppers and worship services will be held each Wednesday, Feb. 18-March 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Suppers are at 5:30 p.m., followed by worship services at 6:30 p.m.
“Stations of the Cross Lutheran Style,” will begin in Bethlehem, go to Nazareth and Capernaum, to the Upper Room and the Garden of Gethsemane, the Antonia Fortress and Palace of Caiaphas, ending on Good Friday at Golgotha. SKC fundraiser aimed at music program
PABLO — The Crown of the Continent Guitar Foundation and Salish Kootenai College Foundation will present ‘Strum & Drum’ on Thursday, March 12, from 7-9 p.m. at the Johnny Arlee/Victor Charlo Theatre. This fundraising event targets raising awareness of a new collaborative effort to build a music education program at SKC. SKC will promote a beginning guitar class for next quarter, as well as offering prestigious scholarships for their students. School District discussed at Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — Dr. Linda Reksten, Superintendent of School District 23, and Pam Owen, Business Manager for School District 23, will be the featured speakers at the Friday, March 13 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. The business meeting begins at noon, adjourns at 1 p.m., and is held at the Polson Rural Fire Department Hall on Regatta Road near the Polson Fairgrounds.

Benefit dinner to help with medical expenses
RONAN — A benefit for Danell “Bumper” Thingelstad will take place on Saturday, March 14. Starting at 4 p.m. at the K. William Harvey gym there will be a Sloppy Joe dinner, a silent auction and a live auction. The drawing for the two raffles will also happen during this time. We are raffling off a Browning 22 rifle with 1,000 rounds and also have a three prize raffle with a Guy Rowbury print signed and framed, a quilt made by local quilters and 1/2 of a pig cut and wrapped as the prizes. Following there will be music, a 50/50 drawing, a white elephant event and a wine pull at 325 Bar to finish the night off.

POLSON – The Annual Firefighters’ Award Banquet will be held Saturday, March 14, at the Polson Elks Lodge beginning at 6 p.m. This year’s event will be a Country Banquet, including a little country dancing 101 by NWCountrySwing.com. POLSON — Polson United Methodist Church’s Fiesta Dinner Fundraiser to reduce their mortgage debt is scheduled for Saturday, March 21.

Spring celebrated with music

All Star basketball games scheduled
MISSION VALLEY – All Star hoopsters will take the court March 24 for the 20th annual Mission Mountain All Star basketball games.
Four teams of boys and girls have been chosen to compete and will show off their skills at the Joe McDonald Center with the girls’ tip off planned for 6:30 p.m., boys will follow right after. Tickets are $5 per person, first-grade students through adults; free for seniors and children through kindergarten.
Each team will consist of 12 athletes from Arlee, Charlo, Two Eagle River, Polson, Ronan and Mission as well as Bigfork and Plains.
