A full evening of fun planned for Cowboy Ball
POLSON — The 27th annual Cowboy Ball will take place under the big tent at the Polson Fairgrounds on Friday, April 21. Canadian musicians entertain at PHS
POLSON — Everything Fitz is a family band featuring the high-energy fiddling and percussive step dancing of four of Canada’s finest young musicians. With roots in the Canadian old-time fiddle tradition and Ottawa Valley step dancing, their unique stage show combines a variety of musical styles-everything from traditional jigs and reels, bluegrass, jazz and swing standards, Celtic, gospel as well as novelty numbers and choreographed dance routines. Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 at the door, or four admission tickets for $45 and seven admission tickets for $75. Youth 18 years old and under are free. POLSON — The 11th annual CASA Golf Scramble takes place at Polson Golf Course on April 22 with 9 a.m. registration and a 11 a.m. shotgun start. POLSON — On April 27, at 6:30 p.m. Miracle of America’s Free Night at the Museum event will show the movie, “Harry’s War.” A postal worker quits his job to fight against the IRS who had unjustly treated his Aunt Beverly who owned a military surplus yard. Harry has to use a WWII halftrack (like the museum displays out front) to fight for justice. The museum displays some of the actual movie props. Big Arm Association hosts potluck, speaker
BIG ARM — The Big Arm Association will host a dessert potluck at the historic Big Arm School on Friday April 28 at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Jim Simpson, Chairman of the Lake County Conservation District and retired forester. Jim will discuss the Swan Forest Initiative. This initiative is hoping to transfer management of 60,000 acres of forestlands in the Swan Valley to the State of Montana for 100 years. He will present both the pros and cons of this initiative. It promises to be an informative evening. Please come join us.
Final day to vote on quilters’ hangings, support senior center
Ronan — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild is doing a fundraiser for the Mission Valley Senior Center. They are hanging their Easter wall hangings there for people to vote, with money, on the best ones. The hanging that earns the most money becomes the winning hanging. The money goes to the senior center. You will be able to vote until April 28 and the center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Weaver to address Pachyderm Club
POLSON – Ronan Police Chief Kenneth J. Weaver is slated to be the guest speaker at the Friday, April 28, Pachyderm Club meeting. Weaver will address issues facing small law enforcement agencies, particularly the lack of officers. He will also speak about how the possible loss of Public Law 280 will affect the Ronan Police Department. Lake County Pachyderm meetings are held in the Polson Rural Fire Dept. building on Regatta Road from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome.

RONAN —Ronan High School Student Council will hold their 5K Color Run on Saturday, April 29. The cost is $10 (5 and under are free) and includes sunglasses and a headband. Registration will start at noon and the race will begin at 1 p.m. You may walk or run the course. It will start and end at Ronan High School parking lot. There will be color-splashing stations throughout the course.

POLSON — Please join Mission Valley Rises for our second, Non-Partisan Potluck for Democracy. We will meet with the candidates’ representatives, ask our questions, and share our ideas. We will also learn more about how, as individuals and in groups, we can be more effectively engaged in our democracy. Medicare 101 Class offered
POLSON — The Medicare 101 class is for anyone turning 65 this year. There are many decisions to make, deadlines to meet and penalties to avoid. The Area VI Agency on Aging is offering the class on Tuesday, May 2, from 1-4 p.m. at the Lake Co Health Dept. meeting room, 802 Main Street.
