Free parenting course focuses on ‘Connecting with Your Kids’ through April 28
LAKE COUNTY — The Sunburst Community Service Foundation, is providing courses for parents. The courses are based on an early intervention program designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children.
The eight-week course, “Connecting with Your Kids,” will take place in Polson. The course is free but registration is required. Childcare will be available. Students who complete the course will receive a Circle of Security Certificate. The course will begin on Friday, March 7, and run eight weeks. POLSON — A free community dinner will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2 Seventh Ave. E, on Thursday, April 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. The menu includes soups, salad and dessert. All are welcome.
Dayton sets Kindergarten Roundup date
DAYTON — Kindergarten Roundup and Child Find for the 2014-2015 school year will take place at Dayton Elementary School Thursday, April 24, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. A child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 10, 2014, to be eligible.

Human Rights Group sponsors ‘Stories from a Nation Within’
HOT SPRINGS — The Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition is sponsoring the free film series “Stories from a Nation Within” in Hot Springs on Thursday, April 24, at 5:30 p.m., at the Preston Town-Country Library, 203 E. Kindergarten Round Up holds pre-registration
RONAN — Mark your calendars for the Ronan School District #30 Kindergarten Round Up pre-registration. This registration is for the upcoming 2014/2015 school year and will be held at the Ronan Middle School on Thursday, April 24, from 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. To be eligible for kindergarten, a student must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 10, 2014. Parents must bring the birth certificate and immunization record for their child. Children, who will be registering, will be screened in hearing, speech, vision and school readiness skills. For your convenience, immunizations will be provided, as needed. Registration and screening should be completed in approximately one hour, so please plan accordingly.

Library hosts open house in appreciation of Trustee Gran
POLSON — The public is invited to an open house at North Lake County Public Library in appreciation of retiring library trustee Jackie Gran. The reception will be held in the library’s atrium from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, April 24. Jackie served on the board of trustees for 12 years.
