Run with color
RONAN —Ronan High School Student Council will hold their 5K Color Run on Saturday, April 29. The cost is $10 (5 and under are free) and includes sunglasses and a headband. Registration will start at noon and the race will begin at 1 p.m. You may walk or run the course. It will start and end at Ronan High School parking lot. There will be color-splashing stations throughout the course.

Non-Partisan Potluck focuses on special election
POLSON — Please join Mission Valley Rises for our second, Non-Partisan Potluck for Democracy. We will meet on Sunday, April 30, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Indian Senior Citizens Center, 701 First Street E. Our focus will be on Montana’s Special Election on May 25. We will meet with the candidates’ representatives, ask our questions, and share our ideas. We will also learn more about how, as individuals and in groups, we can be more effectively engaged in our democracy. People of all persuasions are encouraged to join us in a civil dialogue about the things that matter to us in our community, state and nation. Bring your ideas – and a dish to share. We will once again enjoy good food, listen to one another, and make new friends.

Medicare 101 Class offered
POLSON — The Medicare 101 class is for anyone turning 65 this year. There are many decisions to make, deadlines to meet and penalties to avoid. The Area VI Agency on Aging is offering the class on Tuesday, May 2, from 1-4 p.m. at the Lake Co Health Dept. meeting room, 802 Main Street. Quilters to meet, hold brown bag auction
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 2, at the Terrace Lake Community Church. Fort Connah depicts fur trade era
ST. IGNATIUS — The Fort Connah Restoration Society will host their annual Spring Open House Rendezvous which depicts life during the fur trading era of Montana, on Saturday, May 6, to Wednesday, May 10; a 5-day event. This is a great opportunity to see the 1846 historic Hudson’s Bay Fort Connah Trading Post come to life. This event is free to the public and includes demonstrations of time-era activities, Moose Creek chuck wagon-style barbecue, a baked goods sale, beer and wine, crafts and kids games. There will be historical talks after the opening ceremony at noon on Saturday. IGNATIUS — The Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition’s annual potluck series – Nourish Your Body, Nourish Your Mind will come together on Wednesday, May 10, at 6 p.m. at Mission Valley United Methodist Church, 70715 Highway 93, at the top of Post Creek Hill. Bridget Kevane will present Latino America, Latino Montana. She will lead us through our state’s Latino history, which began even before 1889 and about the more recently arrived community of Latinos in the state.

POLSON — The Masumola Club’s next meeting is Thursday, May 11. Hosts Christine and Gary Pitts say in May it’s time to do our share to beautify America. We will combine our obligation to police Rocky Point Road with our May meeting. Those who can, please come to the Masumola Clubhouse at 3:45 p.m. to get bags, vests etc. Bring your own gloves. People are also welcome to clean the kitchen etc. if they prefer. Hosts will provide appetizers and beer for people as they finish. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and we can do that part outside. Hosts will also provide burgers and condiments for the dinner. Annual Spring Powwow and Graduation Honoring
Salish Kootenai College will be hosting their Annual Spring Powwow and Graduation Honoring on May 12 and 13 with Grand Entries starting at 7 p.m., Friday night and continuing Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. in the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center in Pablo, Montana. Contest dancing is slated to begin Friday and includes Junior, Teen and Adult categories, as well as Golden Age. Drum pay is tentatively set for the first 10 registered drums, with dance specials to be announced. There will be concessions, vendors and raffles with all proceeds going to helping with the powwow.
