View ‘The Joy of Friendship’ exhibit through May 12
POLSON — The Sandpiper Gallery will exhibit “The Joy of Friendship,” a mixed media artwork show from April 10-May 12. This exhibit features member artists Olivia Olsen (mixed media), Larry Kjorvestad (photography), long time member Margie Hendricks (painter), jewelry by Sherry Jones, and guest fiber artist Monique Kleinhans, of Lady Bugs Cabin.
Masumola Club helps beautify America
POLSON — The Masumola Club’s next meeting is Thursday, May 11. Hosts Christine and Gary Pitts say in May it’s time to do our share to beautify America. We will combine our obligation to police Rocky Point Road with our May meeting. Those who can, please come to the Masumola Clubhouse at 3:45 p.m. to get bags, vests etc. Bring your own gloves. People are also welcome to clean the kitchen etc. if they prefer. Hosts will provide appetizers and beer for people as they finish. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and we can do that part outside. Hosts will also provide burgers and condiments for the dinner. Suggested food distribution for dinner is: A – H: salad or veggie; I – O hot dish; P – Z dessert. If you can’t come at 3:45 p.m., please come anyway. Annual Spring Powwow and Graduation Honoring
Salish Kootenai College will be hosting their Annual Spring Powwow and Graduation Honoring on May 12 and 13 with Grand Entries starting at 7 p.m., Friday night and continuing Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. in the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center in Pablo, Montana. Contest dancing is slated to begin Friday and includes Junior, Teen and Adult categories, as well as Golden Age. Drum pay is tentatively set for the first 10 registered drums, with dance specials to be announced. There will be concessions, vendors and raffles with all proceeds going to helping with the powwow. Potluck on tap in Big Arm
BIG ARM — The Big Arm Association will hold a potluck on Friday, May 12, at our historic Big Arm School. We have invited master gardner Mona Rey Tuhi back to give a presentation on “Gardening in Montana.” Last time she offered lots of practical suggestions and answered many questions from the audience. Community picnic includes art, music, auction
POLSON — Please join the Community Food and Agriculture Coalition, Polson Farmers Market, and the Lake County Council on Aging at Farm Road for Local Food for All: A Community Picnic on Saturday, May 13, from 1-6 p.m. The picnic will feature a pop-up art show, a taste of local fare, music, vendors, and a silent auction. Proceeds will increase food access to all at farmers’ markets in the Mission Valley and support the Double SNAP Dollar program. Plated dinner will be served from 3-4 p.m. and local beer will be available. Individual tickets are $20 and a family of four ticket is $75. The event will take place at 35060 Mud Lake Trail. East Valley Pottery Tour
An East Valley Pottery tour is planned for Saturday, May 20 from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 21 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The first inaugural East Valley Pottery Tour is a free, self-guided driving tour of some of the Flathead’s most exciting and innovative pottery studios. Each of the studios is nestled along the beautiful East Valley corridor and will take visitors from Bigfork to West Glacier. This free event includes (5) open studio tours, pottery sales, visiting artisans at each location, a poker run with prizes (provided by participating studios) and a post-tour party at Glacier Distilling Company in Coram. POLSON — The Family Fun Mile and Skyline Challenge Run/Walk supports Lake County Relay for Life on Saturday, May 20. Enjoy RHS ‘Spring Fling’ performances, dinner
RONAN — Ronan High School will hold “Spring Fling Back to the Future,” where Doc and Marty guide you through 100 years of music performed by RHS Band, Choir and Drama at the Performing Arts Center on May 22 and May 23 at 7 p.m. These programs are fundraisers for the Performing Arts Programs. Performance tickets cost $5 per person or $20 for a family. The Technology Student Association and Future Health Professionals will host dinner both nights from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday’s dinner will be hamburgers, beans, chips and a drink. Tuesday’s dinner will be chicken kabobs, rice and a drink. The costs for dinner is $6 per person, $20 for a family of four (additional plates are $5.) All funds on dinner sales will be used for travel to competitions at the state and national levels.

Free Internet Safety Class offered at library
POLSON — North Lake County Public Library will host a free Internet Safety class on Tuesday, May 23, at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Library Specialist Heather Miles will present an overview of Internet security and how to stay safe online. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops or tablets to follow along. Library laptops will also be available for attendees who don’t have a device. Anyone of any age or skill level is invited to attend. Registration is required.

Democrats hold fundraiser, rally for Quist
RONAN — Come to a Lake County Democratic Fundraiser and Rally for Rob Quist on Wednesday, May 24, at 5:30 p.m. This event will be held the night before the Special Election to replace Ryan Zinke. A delicious home cooked spaghetti dinner will be served. The cost is $25 per person. To get to the North Crow Clubhouse, turn off of Highway 93 onto Old Highway 93 and go east on North Crow Road for approximately 2 miles.
Let spring inspire your coloring
POLSON — Spring Is Bustin’ Out All Over and an adult coloring program hosted by North Lake County Public Library will take place in the library meeting room on Wednesday, May 24. Two 90-minute sessions are offered at 2:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. Piano instrumental music is on tap for the afternoon session and the Mission Valley Choral Society Small Ensemble will appear for a set of vocal selections in the evening. The library provides coloring projects of all sizes, along with supplies and refreshments. Or, you may bring your own supplies. The library is located at 2 First Ave. E.
