Sandpiper to sponsor non-juried art show through May 27

Everyone is welcome. Join Kate Kendall as she explains the many ways DNA analysis of bear hair has become a powerful tool for studying bears in northwest Montana.

Masumola Club holds ‘south of the border’ party
POLSON — Host Liz Marchi says: We are all set for a festive south of the border, post Cinco de Mayo gathering on Thursday, May 12. Hosts Marchis and Andersons are providing beef and chicken enchiladas, salsa and chips and beans. Bill Amass wouldn't share his killer margarita recipe with them, but plans to make three gallons to share. Your secretary is hoping that there are plenty of folks there to share Bill's offering. Annual powwow held
PABLO — Salish Kootenai College will host their annual spring pow wow and graduation honoring on May 13 and 14, with Grand Entries starting at 6 p.m. Friday night and continuing Saturday at noon and at 6 p.m. in the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center in Pablo. Contest dancing is slated to begin Friday and includes junior, teen and adult categories, as well as golden age. There will be concessions, vendors and raffles with all proceeds going to helping with the powwow. Vendor space is available so call to reserve a spot. Golf for Griz Tourney coming to Ronan
RONAN — University of Montana Grizzlies coaches and staff will again play with area golfers during the annual Tana Bockman Memorial Golf for the Griz Tournament in Ronan Friday, May 20.
A whole-pig barbecue with the trimmings will follow the co-ed scramble. The $80 fee for participants,($70 for MMGC card holders), includes golf, barbecue and prizes. The barbecue-only charge is $25.
