Sandpiper to sponsor non-juried art show through May 27
POLSON — Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery will sponsor a non-juried show open to all artists April 16-May 27. Artistic interpretation of the theme, in any medium, will be accepted. Concert, dinner, show at Ronan
RONAN — Ronan High School Spring Fling will be held at 7 p.m. May 23 and 24 with a finale concert and variety show featuring the RHS Band, Choir, and Drama students.
Tickets are $5. Robotics will be serving dinner prior to the show.
Dayton PTO hosts community meeting
DAYTON — Dayton Elementary PTO is hosting a community meeting at Dayton School on May 23, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. to discuss school expansion plans. The event features a presentation by architect Nick Salmon, who will discuss the need to align the educational practices of schools with the rapidly changing world and an evaluation of the school’s current facilities and options for the future of Dayton Schools. Presentation addresses suicide
POLSON — Karl Rossten, LCSW, a Suicide Prevention Coordinator for Montana DPHHS, will give a presentation to address the high Montana suicide rate. His free talk will be May 24, from 2-5 p.m. at the Red Lion Inn and it is open to anyone.

PABLO — Elders’ Week continues at Two Eagle River School and begins with breakfast at 9 a.m. There will be dry meat and a science presentation at 10 a.m. A fun run/walk will take place at 11 a.m. The day also includes a fry bread contest, games, Specialty Olympics, a photo booth and interviews. POLSON — In remembrance of Armed Forces Day, the Miracle of America Museum will show “WWII in Color,” a digitally restored film of actual footage showing the real brutality of war on Thursday, May 26, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Not recommended for young children because of the scenes of terror, chaos, and blood in actual battlefield conflicts (although Hollywood movies have been more graphic). Memorial Day services planned
LAKE COUNTY — The Mission Valley Honor Guard will have Memorial Day services on Monday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at the Arlee Jocko Cemetery, 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Pleasant View Cemetery, and 11:30 a.m. at the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Day parades organized
POLSON/RONAN — Memorial Day parades, organized by the Polson and Ronan VFW posts, will be held in Polson at 10 a.m. and Ronan at noon. Memorial services at both the Polson and Ronan cemeteries will be held immediately after the parades. RONAN — The Garden of the Rockies Museum, located at 400 Round Butte Road, will open on Tuesday, May 31. The museum features the Round Butte Gym, the fire escape from the old Ronan School, Sloan’s Flat Stage Stop, a one-room schoolhouse, an old log home with dovetailed construction, and a tool shed and a farm machinery building. Quilters plan busy June schedule

Kids invited for free, fun fishing
NINEPIPES — Kids Fishing Day at the Ninepipes Pond takes place on Saturday, June 4, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Three age groups are included: 6 years and under; 7 to 9 years; and 10 to 13 years.
