Cruise to Biological Station’s monitoring sites
LAKESIDE — Flathead Lake Boat Tours (the Far West) will host an evening cruise to one of the Biological Station’s Flathead Lake monitoring sites on Monday, July 14, from 2-5 p.m. Join FLBS researchers for music, appetizers, beverages and an overview of Flathead Lake ecology and the FLBS research and monitoring program. Family Support Specialists to provide information
ST. IGNATIUS — Staff from the Parents as Teachers program of the Lake County Public Health Department will be at Good Old Days in St. Ignatius on Saturday, July 19, from 1-3 p.m.
Family Support Specialists will be on hand with bubbles, a tiny kids’ fishing pond and information about the Parents as Teachers program. The PAT program is a free, voluntary program that provides twice monthly home visits with age-appropriate activities for children from birth to age five, developmental screenings, and information and referrals to area resources. Moms can be enrolled in the PAT program as soon as they are pregnant, which many moms-to-be and dads find to be very helpful, since babies don’t come with a manual. ST. IGNATIUS — In conjunction with Good Old Days in St. Ignatius, the Lake County Chapter 1122 of the Experimental Aircraft Association will offer Young Eagles flights at St. Ignatius Airport on Sunday morning, July 20, starting at 9 a.m. All children between the ages of 8-17, with their parents’ approval, can get a ride in an airplane free of charge. The Monday, July 21, 6 p.m. meeting will consider non-conforming uses and lot coverage/impervious surface area.
