Summer theatre opens with ‘After the Ball’ through July 22
POLSON —The Port Polson Players’ 2018 summer season, (their 43rd summer season), opens with the musical “After the Ball.” The show features music from the Gay ‘90s through the Roaring ‘20s, along with the title song, parlor tunes, ragtime, cowboy ballads, and Tin Pan Alley favorites. All summer theatre shows are presented at Polson’s beautiful theatre on the lake on the Polson golf course - U.S. Hwy. 93, Boettcher Park. This regional premier plays from July 5-22. Blues Festival invades Hot Springs

Swim in four events charity event
BIG ARM — The fifth annual Flathead Lake Swim Series will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 20-22, at Big Arm State Park with four swims over 3 days: 5K, 10K, 1 mile and ½ mile. This is a charity event with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Enduring Waves Foundation. ‘Live History Days’ event links today with yesterday
POLSON — Mark your calendars for a funfilled weekend called Live History Days at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane, on July 21 and July 22. There will be historic movies Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. There will be ice cream and other concessions; rides on two trains; Army rigs; spinners and wood carvers; a sawmill in action; a jet trainer cockpit; a blacksmith shop; whirling flywheel engines; a tennis ball cannon; a one room schoolhouse, a flint knapper and educational gun exhibits. Buffalo Run to be held in St. Ignatius
ST. IGNATIUS — St. Luke Community Healthcare’s 36th annual Buffalo Run will be held July 21 and consists of a 1-mile, 4-mile, 7-mile and half marathon runs. The half marathon starts promptly at 7 a.m. with the other races starting at 8 a.m. The annual run begins in front of Gamble’s Hardware and the course is in and around the town of St. Ignatius and is mostly flat. Class of ‘63 joins Good Old Days Parade
ST. IGNATIUS — During Good Old Days the Mission class of 1963 will have a float in the parade at noon on July 21. Then they will meet at the Olmsteds’ at 4 p.m. to visit and enjoy an Amish chicken dinner and fresh baked pies at 5 p.m. The meal will cost around $7or $8 apiece. Bring your own beverages. ST. IGNATIUS — A pancake breakfast will take place from 7-11 a.m. at the senior center. The 34th annual Buffalo Run begins with the half-marathon at 7 a.m. sharp. Library serves up vanilla ice cream, reading
POLSON — Join the Parents as Teacher Home Visitors as we partner with Youth Services Librarian Kendra during the North Lake County Public Library’s Mother Goose Story Hour at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 23. The theme will be ice cream, in observance of “Vanilla Ice Cream Day.” We’ll have activities, a craft project, and Kendra will read us fun books on the topic. We will also have some coupons for free child’s cones, compliments of The Cove. ‘Foxfire’ comedy, drama plays at theatre on the lake
POLSON — The second production by the Port Polson Players is “Foxfire,” a Hallmark Hall of Fame classic. MSU alumni invited to dinner cruise, golf
POLSON — On July 27, area friends, MSU Alumni, families and Bobcat Boosters are invited to participate in a Flathead Lake dinner cruise. This event is designed specifically for MSU alums, families and friends whether or not you participate in the golf scramble. This is a great opportunity to socialize with other Bobcats, while enjoying a scenic voyage on Flathead Lake. The cruise will be hosted by MSU Head Football Coach Jeff Choate. Cruise on board the “Shadow,” which departs from the Kwataqnuk Resort at 6 p.m. and returns at 9 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served and there will be a cash bar. Tickets are $55 per person. The golf scramble will be hosted at the Polson Bay Golf Club on July 28. The format will be similar to last year. The scramble begins with a shotgun start at 10 a.m., followed by a social hour and a barbecue. Entry fee is $500 per team. Proceeds benefit the MSU Bobcat Athletic Scholarship Fund. POLSON - The Polson Kiwanis Club hold lunch meetings the first and third Thursday of each month downstairs in the KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah room, from noon-1 p.m. Toni Young, Share the Spirit’s director, will speak about the local organization’s efforts since 1998 to make sure Lake County children have the best Christmas possible. Share the Spirit has been in partnership with the United States Marines and Toys for Tots for the past 15 years, and also with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, which raises money for a shopping excursion at Wal-Mart. Everyone is welcome to attend.
