Order Mission birthday calendars through Sept. 20
ST. IGNATIUS — Orders for the Mission Chamber of Commerce birthday calendars will be taken between now and the deadline of Sept. 20. There will be a table at Rod’s Harvest Foods from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Aug. 3, Aug. 21, Aug. 24 and Sept. 4. If you are unable to order at those times, contact LaVonne Olmsted at 406-745-3423. The price of the calendars remains $10. If you wish to add extra names and dates outside your household, there is a 50-cent additional charge for each name and date.

Port Polson Players bring back British murder mystery through Aug. 30

Learn practices to increase pasture profits
RONAN — We’d like to announce our summer pasture workshop, ‘Pasturing for Profits,’ which will be held in Ronan Aug. 20-21. Jim Gerrish will discuss practical ways to increase the sustainability of our family agricultural operations. This workshop is a continuation of our winter grazing seminar. Attendance will be capped at 100. Workshop will include tours of pastures that are using innovative grazing practices. The workshop will be held at the Ronan Fairgrounds on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 20-21. The cost is $30 and includes a catered lunch on Thursday from Stella’s Bakery in Ronan.
Rodeo provides food, entertainment
POLSON — The Flathead River Rodeo will take place on Aug. 20, 21 and 22. The Indian National Finals Tour Rodeo, sponsored by the KwaTaqNuk Resort and Casino and the CSKT Tribes, begins at 7 p.m. each night with live music after the rodeo each night. Food and beverage concessions will be available. There will be a professional bullfighting competition each night following the rodeo performance. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for students and there is no charge for children 6 years and under. This event has been voted Tour Rodeo of the Year for the past three years. Arts, crafts available at Social Powwow
PABLO –– The annual Social Powwow at the People’s Center on Highway 93 in Pablo is open to all artists and vendors from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. in the arbor at the center. Grand entry is at 4 p.m. This is a social gathering of native dancers, drums, and singers celebrating their different native dance styles. Vendors of native arts and crafts and food will have their goods available. (There will be no contest dancing.)

Yard sale, you-dig plants to support Ware-Whipple family
POLSON — The Ware-Whipple family of Aware Wellness Center has to move to Panama in early September due to the respiratory health of their son. On Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a yardsale and a plant share, you dig free sumac, maple, some apples, pears, lots of comfrey, Jerusalem artichokes, sedum, pears to harvest, apples for winter storage, etc., all on donation basis.
The yard sale will have all things related to winter including clothing, coats, ski gear, ice fishing, hunting, guns, ammo, winter sheets, blankets and bed spreads, etc. Long term food storage for sale, too. Come support our family’s future farming in Panama, and come say goodbye. We are so thankful to such a loving community, we will miss you all and welcome you to our winter eco retreat escape Aware Wellness Retreat in northern Panama.

Youth group raises funds for charity
POLSON — Catalyst Youth Group of New Life Christian Center, 1414 Second Street W, is asking all to come and give your support at their spaghetti feed on Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. at the New Life Christian Center. They are raising money for charity. The meal is just $4 per person or $18 dollars for a family of five or more. Learn how to dehydrate, preserve food
