New art exhibit begins at Sandpiper Gallery
POLSON — The Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery, 306 Main Street, begins their new exhibit, “Where does the Story Begin?” The show runs from July 30-Aug. 31 and features member artists Carole Carberry (watercolor), Maryann Eikens (sculpture/watercolor), Gitti Miller (basket weaving) Jan Brooks (wearable art), Jan Lindgren (watercolor), Julie Christopher (everything and anything), and guest artist John Ashley (photography). Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday.

‘Souvenir’ wraps up PPP summer season
POLSON — Wrapping up Port Polson Players’ summer season is “Souvenir.” Missoula favorite Alicia Bullock Muth returns to the Polson stage in this musical retelling of the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, an American socialite who was noted as the world’s worst opera singer. All summer theatre shows are presented at Polson’s beautiful theatre on the lake on the Polson golf course – U.S. Hwy. 93, Boettcher Park. This production plays from Aug. 16-26. Final ‘Adulting’ class held
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will hold “Adulting 101’s” third and final session on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. in the library meeting room. This session will cover the basics of finance and we will talk about travel. We invite your questions. This fun, interactive program is for teens and preteens and is intended to help prepare the future of our nation to go out into the world (mostly) ready to survive as a new adult. BIG ARM — The Big Arm Association will host our 12th annual Barn Dance on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 5:30-9 p.m. at our historic Big Arm School. Native style flutes, music on tap
CHARLO —Ninepipes Museum is honored that artists will exhibit their beautiful work in the Earl W. Wharton Memorial Gallery during the 2018 season. Nancy Vaughan’s terrific fry bread and Indian tacos will be available in conjunction with the artist receptions. David Weber, a crafter of Native American styles flutes, will bring not only his creations to exhibit at the Ninepipes’ gift shop, but provide entertainment as well. He designs, carves and crafts his flutes from a selection of more than 20 different exotic and tradition woods, birds and keys, and each piece receives careful attention to detail and tuning. Webb will perform several 15-minute concerts in the diorama room on Saturday – on the hour from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Visit with him in the museum gift shop from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. where flutes and CDs will be available for sale. Light refreshments will be served also. The gift shop will offer 10-35 percent off on select items over the Labor Day weekend. Call 406-644-3435 for information.

Dance, jam with musicians
POLSON — Polson’s Northwest Accordion Association’s Jam/Dance will take place on Sunday, Sept. 2. Our accordion jams/dances are held on the first Sunday of each month at the Elks ballroom on Main Street. Accordion, guitar, banjo, violin, mandolin, etc., are all welcome to come and play. Singers who sing country or accordion type music are encouraged to come with or without an instrument and to bring a mic and amp if you have them. If you play, you don’t pay, to get in. Admission is $2 for Association members, $3 for non-members and $5 if you would like to become a member of the Association. We do have a great time together, so please come if you can.

This is a non-juried show, open to all artists. Artistic interpretation of the theme, in any medium, will be accepted. There is a small entry fee for non-Sandpiper member artists. RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their next monthly meeting on Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW in Ronan.
