‘Monsters’ chosen as art theme
POLSON — Instructor Sue Ball, in collaboration with Sandpiper Art Gallery, will teach an art class for kids ages 7 and up, on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 1-4 p.m. The cost of the class is $10 with materials included.

Local Kiwanis Club holds event at KOA
POLSON — Kiwanis Club of Polson is hosting an “Ode to Summer: Wine, Beer and Tasty Morsels” event on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Polson KOA. Tickets are $20 per person and are available from Polson Kiwanis members or the KOA office.
Pancakes served up in Big Arm

Sanders County Fair begins
PLAINS — The Sanders County Fair opens on Monday, Aug. 30 and ends on Monday, Sept. 6. Chainsaw artist Steven Higgins will demonstrate his skills and have an inventory of his works for sale. There will be an auction of one of his designs on Sunday at the Demolition Derby. Monday - Wednesday there will be 4-H and agriculture events. The Powder River Rodeo, LLC and D&H Cattle and carnival rides all commence on Thursday, Sept. 2. There will be a Demolition Derby on Sunday, Sept. 5. Enjoy ‘Championship Night’ at speedway
POLSON — Mission Valley Speedway Superoval, 1113 N. Reservoir Rd. will have Mod 4s, Hornets, Hobby Stocks, Legends and late models. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children 8-14 and children under 7 are free. Seniors ages 55 and older pay $8 an admission fee. Compete in MT Senior Olympics
MISSOULA — This year’s Senior Olympics games will be held in Missoula from Sept. 9-11. Events include archery, badminton, basketball, bowling, cycling, golf, horseshoes, pickleball, racewalk, road race, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis, track & field, and tennis. Registration opened in early June and closes mid-August. This year is a qualifying year for the 2022 national games held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, May 10-23. Due to COVID cancelling many state games, an adjustment to the qualifying process has been implemented. Celebrate Ronan Cooperative Brewery’s first birthday
RONAN — The Ronan Cooperative Brewery is celebrating their first birthday. How far we’ve come in the past year. Come and celebrate with us on Friday, Sept 10. There will be live music from the 440’s, yard games, and food in the beer garden.

Ronan tailgate party planned
The Ronan Hall of Fame Committee will be hosting a tailgate event on Friday, Sept. 10, prior to the Ronan/Columbia Falls football game. Burgers, salads, chips and dessert will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the high school parking lot. Donations will be accepted and all contributions will go to the Hall of Fame Project.
