Jocko Valley Museum opens
ARLEE — The Arlee Jocko Valley Museum, run by the Arlee Historical Society, opens for the summer July 4 and will be open every other Saturday from 2-4 p.m. or by appointment, until Labor Day. The museum has many historical displays including many photographs of Native and homesteading families. There are hundreds of obituaries with genealogy information. There is also a military display commemorating those who have given their lives for this country. The Arlee Museum is located at corner of Bouch and Fyant (by the grade school). RONAN — Mission Valley Backcountry Horsemen will hold their monthly meeting on Sept. 6th at 7:30 p.m. on Round Butte Rd. in Ronan. Scott and Bonnie Kiser will present a PowerPoint video that they took 4 years ago of their 10-day pack trip with their horses in the Beartooth National Forest Absaroka. They will also give a presentation on their Arizona vacation from this past winter, renting a specialized camping van. This is a very interesting and very affordable way to travel. Rural Fire District holds budget hearing
POLSON — Polson Rural Fire District Board of Trustees will hold a budget hearing for presentation and review of the FY 2016- 2017 budget at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8. The budget hearing will be held at the Fairgrounds Station #1 meeting room located at 25-B Regatta Road. Firefighters chosen as theme for Dayton Daze celebration
DAYTON — The Chief Cliff VFD/QRU annual fundraiser Dayton Daze will be held at Dayton Park with the theme: Firefighters - the Heart of Patriotism. Festivities start at 1 p.m. with firefighter games, kids games and face painting, A.L.E.R.T. helicopter landing, live music, firefighter competitions, free hot dogs, a parade with prizes at 3 p.m., historic tours to Proctor, and much, much more.
