POLSON — Ormand Bruce Eastman, age 94, passed away on Nov. 7, 2020. Ormand was born in Whittier, California, the first child of Barney and Katheryn (Doty) Eastman. He went through his school years in California. In 1944, when he turned 18, he enlisted in the Navy and spent the balance of WWII on the destroyer minesweeper, USS Fitch, in the South Pacific. In 1949, he met Patsy Rettig, and the two were married in December. They had four children. They lived in Southern California until 1963 when they moved to Sunnyvale, California. In 1971, they moved to Montana and in May of the following year, purchased the Proctor Store in Proctor. The Eastmans enjoyed storekeeping until their retire...
