Justice of the Peace Randal L. Owens dealt with the following cases Jan. 16-22:

Jose Andres Gonzalez, 23, pleaded not guilty to operating without liability insurance in effect, second offense. He was found guilty and sentenced to 180 days in Lake County Jail with 178 suspended, and was fined $350 plus $35 in court costs. Gonzalez did plead guilty to failing to properly restrain a child under 6 years old and under 60 pounds. For that offense, he was found guilty and fined $50 plus $35 in court costs. Additionally, Gonzalez forfeited another $50 bond and $35 in court costs for the same offense of not restraining a child that was issued this month.

Grant Andrew Clapp, 23, pleaded not guilty to an amended offense of operating with alcohol concentration of .08 BAC or greater, first offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail with all suspended, and fined $400 plus $85 in court costs.

Daniel Warren Schaub, 57, pleaded not guilty to operating greater than no-wake speed in certain circumstances. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail with all suspended, and fined $250 plus $35 in court costs.

Randell John Ballas, 48, pleaded guilty to improper passing in a no-passing zone. He was found guilty and fined $100 plus $35 in court costs.

Alicia Bond, 30, forfeited a $50 bond for operating with expired registration, failure to reregister. She was also fined $35 in court costs.

Robert Jean Ward, 22, forfeited an unknown amount of bond for disorderly conduct. He was also fined $85 in court costs.

Christy Ann Fryberger, 41, forfeited a $50 bond for operating with expired registration, failure to reregister. She was also fined $35 in court costs.

Chad Joseph Reynolds, 41, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle not properly registered and to operating without liability insurance in effect. He was found guilty and fined a total of $275 plus $70 in court costs.

Eduvina Orozco-Charlo, 20, pleaded guilty to owner permitting operation of vehicle without liability insurance, second offense. She was found guilty and fined $300 plus $35 in court costs.

Christopher P. Kammerer, 25, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle not properly registered. He was found guilty and fined $35 in court costs.

Jennifer Lee Christensen, 31, forfeited an $85 bond for basic rule, reasonable and prudent, first offense.

Robert Charles Edwards, 54, forfeited a $100 bond and $35 in court costs for not having a log book in his possession. 

Jeremiah Lee Bennett, 38, forfeited a $100 bond and $35 in court costs for failing to follow conditions and requirements of a special permit.

The following people forfeited a $20 bond for a seatbelt violation: Ernest William Johnson, 65; Christopher Lee Gardner, 21; Robert Alexander Castro, 64; Jeffery Neil Strozzi, 56; Bruce David Gilroy, Sr.

The following people forfeited bonds for speeding:

Kenneth James Ault, 44, $50; Margery Ellen Christensen, 61, $20; Kenneth James Ault, 44,; Laurie Opie Feuhrer, 52, $50 plus $35 in court costs; Carol Ann Paullin, 59, $50 plus $35 in court costs; Thomas Layton Rea, 59, $20.
